Does the job but be carefule not to lose screws

Was not a fan of the included ball head. Use the adapter with RRS ballhead. Works great. Only issue is that the screws that secure the ballhead (3 of them) fall out when head not attached (when i travel I remove ball head). Had to replace them.

But using the user universal head, I’m able to use a gimbal mount head for supporting a huge lens for Astro photography

I just wish it comes with a longer central column so I don't have to screw/unscrew the ballhead everything time I want to use it. Or at least if they sell the central column, I could keep it attached to the head adapter. That would make life much easier.

Replacement head to a tripod. I use it only when I need to use the gimbal head for camera rotation because of the bigger screw. Its solid build, easy to install

head adaptor for PD aluminum tripod

Used this to attach a compact fluid head for mounting a Nikkor 200-500mm and D850 for birds in flight... worked flawlessly.. got shots I never could have with standard tripod ball

No more wobble issues

Found the perfect solution to my problem.. I have always had issues using my zoom telephoto lens with just the regular peak design ball head .. Now with this universal head adapter and my newly acquired long lens head from another brand, its the perfect marriage! :)

My wife had been telling me to look at peak for my camera equipment as she has been so stoked on her laptop bag for years as a road warrior . I ignored her like an idiot and then I bought the travel tripod and universal head adapter….. thank god I did !!! It is the best , most compact mobile tripod system I have ever owned!!!! I’m #peaking from now on!!!!
