Overall very impressed with the quality of the 4k images as well as the night vision! The installation was quick and easy (hardest part routing the wires through attic) I did have an issue with the connection to my network but a call to support resolved the issue. I would have given 5 stars but coming from an older Ring camera I loved the picture quality improvement but the software was not as friendly or as functional. One missing detail is the ability to turn-off the spot light or better yet have it operate only during certain times...for example during the day I do not want the spot light coming on for my front door BUT at 2am when I am asleep I would need the light to deter criminals etc. The other thing I ran into was seeing all the different apps "connect" and "HD" which one is the best for my system??? Ideal if it was very clear or one app that allowed you to select your model and the features for that model would be visible - like the aforementioned spotlight.

Some nicer improvements over my older DVR and 1080p cameras. The 4k video quality is excellent. The spotlights are very bright and will hopefully deter the hooligans away at night. It is a little annoying that they turn on during the day though, wish you could turn that off. I also had to put a piece of tape over the spotlight for the camera that is inside my entryway so it doesn't blind me every time I enter the house. One thing I was sad to see that has been removed in the latest cameras is the pivot base. These basically only move up and down. The older cameras were much easier to position. It can still be done, but it's much more tedious with this newer (and cheaper) camera design.

The quality on the HD video is excellent. Exceeding expectations. Even at night, clear as day.
The only reason why I did not give it a 5 star is because of the app. It could use some upgrades.
There is also no app for smart TV. You need to use the app on the phone and project to the smart TV.

Great system for my house!

I am loving this system so far. Really easy to setup and the image quality is top notch. No, no one likes having to run cables. Thankfully i had a few good friends who helped with mine. They are so impressed with the system, they are talking about buying one as well. We had a couple of break ins in the area and really wanted to put some cameras on my house. Glad i chose night owl.

4K system replaces five year old Night Owl system

This is my second Night Owl System. My first was purchased in 2015 (a 1MP / 720p system) and ran five years (and was still working) before I replaced it with this 8MP / 4K system. Really liked the new spotlight feature as another deterrent to theft. The mobile interface works pretty well. Very happy!
