Great Laptop

I bought this a month ago and I am very happy with the performance. I wanted something high performance and with a large HD screen, after researching several models I chose the ASUS TUF A17. I have had no issues with it since I bought and the laptop runs very fast.

Solid laptop

Bought a month ago, writing this review for a chance at a 90-day warranty extension
- Build quality feels solid, good documentation in the manual
- battery can't be easily removed
- SSD so the boot time should be fast but there are times when it takes a few seconds longer, not sure why
- usb ports: 1 type-A port on each side, 2 type-C on the left side , 1 hdmi output port, 1 lan port, 1 headphone/mic jack
As a 1st time Asus user, there's some registrations you'll need to do. The laptop comes preinstalled with Asus software which provides a lot of performance customization - such as MUX switch and preset battery charging modes. Customization has to be done via their software and anytime the settings are adjusted, the laptop will need to be restarted to apply them.
Not sure if it's an Asus thing but I had to get used to different keyboard shortcuts for quick typing, switching between tabs, etc
Overall, solid laptop depending on the specs but has some middle-manning with Asus

awesome WoW machine

Got this so my wife could play WoW in the bedroom when she couldn't make it out to her desktop (she has health issues).
Coupled it with wireless keyboard and mouse (and a long HDMI for when she wants to connect to TV).
She loves it.
Power supply can get pretty hot, but still a 5 star rating from me

Purchased from website kinda grab-bag purchase

Purchased 12/29 from website. I was initially disappointed purchase used up to a lot when talking about specifications. I was hoping for at least a 20 series graphics card. I'd been satisfied if I got at least one specification at the top of the up to list. It never happened I got bottom of the line specs a 16 series video card and a 6 core Ryzen 5 8gb and the standard 512 ssd. When I purchased I didn't expect my purchase to be a grab-bag my luck is terrible. I upgraded the memory to 32gb and added a 2nd 1tb m.2. Laptop is fine for all my present gaming and is responsive after I removed worthless MacAfee trial ware. I like to purchase with the future, in mind I don't feel like I got much value in that regard I play games like Space Engineers, Ark Survival Evolved, Empyrion Galactic Survival, Hogwarts Legacy, No Man's Sky, Elden Ring etc. Laptop seems fine for the games I play with the upgrades I mentioned above. I'd preferred to pick my own equipment even if I'd had to pay a little more I wouldn't recommend grab-bag purchases unless you accept that your luck will be as bad as mine.

Quality Laptop

Having owned Asus laptops previously this was an easy decision to purchase and I was not disappointed. Easy set up and great overall performance. Battery life could be better but otherwise no complaints. Please note I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback.
