I LOVE my scooba...but it cant seem to find its tank anymore! it did a beautiful job of keeping floors clean and free of sand. PLEASE BRING IT BACK.. it cleans the floor better than any Mop/Swiffer/spray floor and scoot over with town under feet/human ever can... i did a test once, when i first got my scooba...i cleaned my kitchen floor (w/ bleach) and i thought it was CLEAN...till i ran the Scooba and i saw what came out of the tank!
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Easy To Use
Cons: Small Debris Bin

Loved the Scooba -- Please bring Back

Having a separate tank for clean and dirty water is the most efficient way to clean floors...period. Because of this the Scooba cleans better than I could mop. Please bring the Scooba back! Look at all the websites with Scooba batteries and parts for sale as people desperately try to repair their old models. The Braava line is a sad replacement.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use

Scooba 450

It is a great vac if no water is used. If used to scrub don't bother by the time you spend recharging, cleaning the unit, and repositioning it in areas not cleaned well, be better off paying someone to mop by floors or just buy a good hand mop.
Pros: Cleans Well In Small Area, Good Vac Bad Cleaner
Cons: Battery life is horrible, Cleaning The Unitgross, Clogs often, Have To Recharge Often
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

iRobot Scooba® 450 by iRobot Not Perfect
on June 25, 2014

I had high hopes for this iRobot Scooba® 450 after using their vacuum version with very satisfactory results for over a year now. We have high quality laminate flooring so I was a bit concerned about the possibility of this device causing the floors to delaminate or buckle. We live near an ocean with strong breezes that often drive the rain through open doors and these floors have been wet many times without adverse consequence so I thought I'd chance it. So far (after one use) they held up well. What disappoints me are a few engineering deficiencies with this model that doesn't live up to their advertising hype. First off, I was hoping that this machine would clean thoroughly but alas it leaves streaks. This is despite using a brand new machine and following their directions to the letter. I used their solution as well. Perhaps with additional washes this may improve but it was only able to perform one complete wash cycle on a fully charged battery before the battery low indicator came on. I also found that it does not avoid carpets and rugs but rather runs over them and gets stuck. I had already removed the smaller rugs but had to roll up the edges of the larger ones to keep this machine from trying to wash the rugs as well. I ended up using the Virtual Wall to keep it off the carpeted areas. Finally, the machine was not able to suck up all the water. It did manage to get most of it but left a few large puddles in various places that I had to soak up by hand. I think the AI may be easily confused by complex areas. We have an island in the middle of our kitchen and even though it did manage to get around it it's not clear whether it was able to make all the passes in all areas that it was suppose to. The bottom line is that this works, sort of. It does leave streaks and rides over rugs and carpets which are big negatives for me. It's also not clear that its AI can manage to perform all passes over spaces that are not completely unobstructed. I was hoping for more based on my previous experience with their vacuum robots but this isn't it.
Pros: Automatic, Uses Fresh Water
Cons: Does Not Avoid Carpets, Doesn't Suck Up All Water, Leaves Streaks, Short Battery Life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased the Scooba two years ago and didn't really think it would work. It has been the best investment I have made. My entire basement is oil stained concrete floors. Scooba has been a lifesaver for me! It leaves no streaks on my shiny floors and perfectly cleans them every time. I love it so much I have just ordered a second one!

The Scooba is the best cleaning robot!

I used the Scooba for over 5 years, enjoyed it immensely, thought it did a pretty decent job of cleaning. Unfortunately, the rubber wheels wore out. I ordered a couple replacements from an online outlet (iRobot wouldn't provide replacements!) and they didn't last more than two or three cleaning cycles. My Scooba would still be running the house if it weren't for the rubber wheels. It would be really excellent if iRobot would re-introduce the Scooba, as it vacuumed and mopped the entire house with ease. And every component could be washed & reused! To do the same job that the Scooba did, you'd have to have both the Roomba & the other robot (which I've read doesn't really do a great job). I really don't understand why companies don't listen to their customers anymore. Please, iRobot guys, do the right thing!!
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin, Long Run Time

If you can only find one ....

Our Roomba 450 is tremendous. None of the other robo-mops are like it (that I've found). Makes two passes over the floor. Filling and emptying the tank is a breeze (only a single debris screen in the tank sometimes needs cleaning and requires a screwdriver to access it, which is so out of character with the rest of the design). A cleaning solution measuring cup is integrated into the tank cap.Puts down cleaning water/solution mix and scrubs with a brush (we like Pine Sol ... leaves such a nice scent afterwards). Then it goes back to pick up the dirty water. Only very occasionally gets into a position where it needs a little help. The only potential snarls in the process we have found are that: 1). If the battery dies or the Scooba gets stuck, the mop water dries up before it is collected. 2). sort of the same is true in a room too big. The water dries before the mop gets back to slurp it up. This just requires some thoughtful use of the virtual wall boundaries to divide up the room into sections. The only upsetting thing is ... look how much people love these things (chants of "Bring Back the Scooba"). But iRobot has stopped producing almost any of the parts so if something breaks ... even a small thing ... your Scooba is a doorstop with nothing similar to replace it.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use, Very well made
Cons: Noisy, Requires Management for Larger Spaces
