I use water with a capful of Lavender floor cleaner to shampoo my floors. Immediately after use I empty and rinse the tank. The removable parts like roller blade, filter etc remove & wash and parts that do not come off I use wet paper towel to clean and dry off with dry towel. It is noisy but you get used to it, I like using my Scooba I call her Loreta. Within 3 months from purchase date I had to have the main base replaced, first it appeared like the battery would not charge so I ordered a new one, that did not fix it so irobot sent me the new base. Now 8 months later the machine turns on but will not run and irobot wants to charge me $150 to fix it. Over the phone they tell me it could be the start button problem. Why have a product that has so many defects? If the machine lasted 3 to 5 years without these hiccups them irobot has a great product. I would recommend to a friend BUT with a big warning about purchasing some kind of warranty for 3 years that irobot will have to pay to repair their product.
On my second Roomba and now my second Scooba. I also gave a Roomba as a gift to my daughter. My Scooba finally pooped out(after about 10 yrs.) and they replaced it for a small fee with the same model. I ordered a new one but found that I did not like the new features on the new Scooba. So back to the 'New' old Scooba, it is awesome beyond belief! My pets find it entertaining as well. It cleans underneath my furniture!!!
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use, Hassle Free Operation, Large Debris Bin, Long Run Time, Work Horse
I have trouble bending the i robot can keep up with the common house hold dirt in a kitchen. Easy to use. I am disappointed that after a party of 30 people even after two different cleanings it did not get the light dirt by the door, an area about 3'X 2',I finally got a wet cloth and wiped it up. This dirt was in the direct path of the robot when I started it. I have only had my Scooba for about 2 months am happy with it and hoping it continues to keep up with the twice weekly cleaning. I do not feel it is for heavy cleaning-maybe with 2-3 consecutive days. I clean 1-2X per week but it is mopped 1X/3 weeks.
Pros: Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use, Good For Frequent Cleanin, Long Run Time
We are a bus business couple, with children in early 20's and our first grandchild. Time poor. The rumba scoops has freed up time, so we can be their for our children.

I used to have a Scooba 300 series and I loved it. I used it for almost a year until it stopped working. So I traded up for the 400. I wish I could go and buy the same one I had before because of all the problems. Right out of the box it doesn't dispense enough water and after a couple uses one of the tread on the wheels starts coming off. I sent a request for help on the dispensing of water and I recieved a lovely answer about how it was my fault for not using the proper solution. I was using the irobot solution and water. It's always nice when they blame you off the bat before checking on any facts. I then was asked a bunch of random questions that had nothing to do with the dispensing of water (How exactly does room size matter in water dispensing?). I'm still working to try and fix the problem, but honestly i feel I'm going to have to return this and try again or wait until the next series where they fix these little problems. And I'm very bummed considering I LOVED my old scooba. I kind of feel that they went overboard with the tech extras. I don't need a voice telling me that you are stuck (when you aren't). I just need a basic scooba that cleans until it's done.
Pros: Easy Cleaning
Cons: Clogs Easily, Long Charge Time, Lower Quality, Shorter Run Time
I bought the roomba and the scooba when I hurt my back in 07. It saved my floors and I will always own both of the products. If you said I could only have 1 the scooba would win. My husband "blows" out my roomba occasionally. My dog will turn it on turn his back to it lay down and "let" it get him. He acts surprised and does it all over again.
