Curb your enthusiasm

I have two dogs who are confined to the kitchen and backyard while I'm away. I bought the newest Scooba so that I could keep the kitchen floor somewhat clean between major scrubbings, which, from all the reviews I read, is the most that Scooba buyers should expect...it is NOT a scrubbing tool, it is a maintenance tool. My kitchen is just over 200 sq feet in size, but it is an odd shape with a bar area that projects at a 45 degree angle between the kitchen and dining area. Since the sq footage is well within what is recommended for the large room setting, I hoped using the Scooba would be a 'set it, walk away, come back to a clean kitchen' operation. Unfortunately, the Scooba does not seem to be able to navigate the bar area correctly and left huge puddles of water/solution. I had to go over the kitchen with a dry mop to pick up all the wet solution. NOT what I bought this for. So, I split the room up into a 132 sq ft area and a 70 sq ft area with the virtual wall and sent the Scooba on two small room missions. I will say that it did perform better in this configuration, however, it doesn't seem to be able to navigate the kitchen table legs very well. I say this because it seems to spend an inordinate amount of its cycle time going around those legs. The table is the only thing that I don't remove from the area, and I watched the Scooba go around those legs at least 6 times each, but only went over other areas twice. I'm going to try moving the table to a different area of the room...it is too large to move it completely out of the kitchen. I've only had it for a few days and have used it each day now. I'm going to keep trying different tactics, including pre-sweeping the area. So I'm less than ecstatic over this purchase...it is a passable replacement for damp mopping every day to keep some semblance of clean in the kitchen...but it is very expensive for just a passable replacement. If I'm not happier in two weeks, I'll probably return it. I had higher hopes...

Not as good as I'd hoped

I have owned this machine for about 4 months. I have a Brazilian Koa wood floor and a porcelain tile kitchen floor adjoining it. I simply cannot get this floor to come clean. The machine leaves a haze over it and does not get it clean. I go over it with a steam cleaner and lots more grime comes off. I really wanted this to work as I have a dog and two cats. I wish I'd bought the vacuum. I also have a Mint robot and this does a better job.

Amazing Floor Washer

We have two Golden Retrievers in our home and our hardwood and tile floors get extremely dirty fast. Scooba has helped out immensely by washing, cleaning and drying our floors amazingly. Our floors get so clean, shiny and smell great thanks to our Scooba. My time is now free to do what I want to do and get other things done without having to worry about washing the floors. I really love Scooba's efficiency and the way our floors smell when they're all clean. Scooba is also very easy to maintain. The one thing I don't like is I can't pick up the Scooba during a cycle to move it to a different location without getting an error signal. But other than that, I have no complaints and totally recommend Scooba to everyone especially to those with pets.
Pros: Cleans well, Easy Maintenance, Efficient, Quiet, Shines well

Better Than A Maid

I hurt my back last year and have trouble pushing a mop and a vacuum. I have the roomba vacuum for years and love it. I bought the Scooba a couple of months ago and it is a great tool. It cleans the floors very well. The only thing I have to say is I wish the battery lasted longer so I could clean more rooms in the house. I am considering buying an additional battery to charge.

Polished porcelain

Maybe the worst Valentine's gift to my wife, Very poor job picking the water from the polished porcelain floor, leaves drops and streaks everywhere, there was not single tile that was cleaned good. At the end it only has picked up less than half of the water that was used to fill it up. Spent a lot of time researching and there was not enough reviews out there, just those paid comercials everywhere. Felt emberaced, after I thought I was going to make my wife happy it did not work. Don't spend your $600.

When I decided to buy Scooba 450, crossed my fingers it was going to work. After using it for a couple of weeks. I love it!!!. Scooba does most of the work for me. After reading some reviews was careful to make scooba ready the rooms to be cleaned. Surprised how dirty the water comes out, after cleaning. I do love the product and would recommend it. There are some minor nuissances for me, one is the battery life, as it is enough to just clean one big room, it would be nice to be able to buy another battery to keep Scooba working, and finish all at once without the need to take it to the charging station. Also I think it needs to be smarter, as there are some parts where Scooba doesn't go, specially after bumping into a few obstacles and also I would like it to end the job in the same place it started to avoid looking for it, specially under furniture. Other than that is a great product, I use it on a daily basis a couple of times a day, never seen my hard floors so clean with so little effort
Pros: Charging station, Does Most Of The Work, Easy To Use, Small
Cons: Battery life, Need To Be Smarter, Needs To Be Smarter

What a wonderful product! Basically, this is a great robot. It works as advertised and cleans my floors freeing me up to take care of the rest of my house. The robot attacks stuck on messes well. iRobt definitely made a great upgrade in the brush assembly used by this robot. The longer bristles and higher RPMs clean much better than the Scoooba 350. What I have found in using this robot is that super dirty floors can be a bit of a problem for this robot. Here's what I mean, the robot cleans well but where there is a lot of lint or other thick debris on the floor performance suffers a bit, because of the removable filter in the tank. Wet non-dis-solvable messes get stuck on the filter. Once I figured out the filter was there I was able to clean it up and get things moving again. Now I just make it part of my regular cleaning when cleaning Scooba. In summation, I believe that what might be best is to use a Roomba to vacuum the floor first like the evening before Scooba is run. With a pre-vacuumed floor I would think that Scooba would have very little problem scrubbing the floor. It depends on how dirty your floors are. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my Scooba and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I absolutely love my Scooba 450 and couldn't live without it. It hasn't been hassle free-I had to send in the original robot twice for repair or replacement when I first got it, but it was definitely worth the trouble. I have had it for over a year now, and use it every day, rotating small areas for it to clean. I have a lot of tile, and mopping was the job I couldn't stand. I will purchase every future improved model of this product forever. It is pricey but in my household, it has paid for itself because otherwise I would hire a cleaning person. Without the floors to worry about, I am happy and capable of doing it all on my own.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Easy To Use
