Hello Doctor H,
I want to help find the cause of the black stripe. This black stripe is a rare and unique situation.
The first thing I would do is look for a leak. Leaks occur in a variety of ways. Inserting the cartridge with too much force causes leaks. If no leaks are present, check the copper contacts.
There is a possibility a smudge of ink is causing the black line. Cleaning this area will help the results. I hope these suggestions resolve the issue.
