I purchased the Wahoo Tickr
on January 29, 2021

I purchased the Wahoo Tickr to replace an aging Garmin chest strap that was still working fine. I wanted the ability to track HRV. I like the fit and design of the Tickr but it seems slow to connect to bluetooth. That is my only real criticism of it so far. I like the Android app as well.

Consistently inconsistent

I proactively replaced my old Tickr as it had a number of years on it and was starting to introduce some hiccups into my Zwift data.
The new Tickr is somehow less reliable. It consistently doesn’t send a signal upon starting the program despite a strong BT signal.
After finagling and my BPM appears on screen, I watch it jump around with large swings or stop updating or just dropout altogether.

Got fed up with my Garmin heart strap so I bought a Wahoo Tickr. Have used it 15-20 rides and it hasn’t skipped a beat!!! Very easy to link to my Garmin 820. The strap fits very well and is easy to adjust.
Great product!!!

Good HR monitor and HR
on February 11, 2021

Good HR monitor and HR reported is accurate. Only challenging experience I've had is getting my HR to report although I've use conductive gel and device is shown as connected. So far this only happens when using the Zwift App. What seems to work to get around this is to disable bluetooth on my phone and kickr, power up the kickr, then my re-enable bluetooth on my phone. I suspect that services are not binding to devices in a logical order which is why it would be connected with no HR activity reporting. When running with Garmin Forerunner I have zero issues.
This is my second Tickr HR. My first on lasted over 2.5 years. I am a fan of the Wahoo gear and have the Kickr Core and Element Bolt.

Good value.

Instantly syncs to my NordicTrack s15i bike within seconds. Has trouble maintaining connection to Wahoo app on my android phone, but phone is very cheap/old so that may be the issue. Is easy to adjust, does not slide out of place and is comfortable. Easily snaps together. I don't have any other heart rate monitors to compare it to, but it seems well worth the money.

It takes around 8 minutes
on February 20, 2021

It takes around 8 minutes of warm up before the monitor detects the heartbeat. It is a bit frustrating. I have tried various ointments to facilitate the detection to happen more quickly to no avail. Would love to have a solution, once up and running it works fine.
