Awful! Don’t waste your money on this junk!

If there was a 0 rating this is what it would get. I have had problems with this machine since day 1. It doesn’t spin my clothes out. Most of the time it will say the cycle is finished when it hasn’t even done anything. Plus I never could get it to connect to the app for updates. Even had a repairman come out once and said they have nothing but troubles with them. I don’t know how there has not been recalls on it. Don’t waste your time or money on this piece of junk! I will never buy another whirlpool in my life.

Major Disappoinment.

I thought I was going to love this washer. What a complete disappointment it has become. The main hate I have for this machine is that it doesn't supply enough water to agitate the clothes. It is a constant battle to get enough water to get the machine to work properly. My machine is less than a year old and I dread having to use this machine for another 15 years.

Ongoing Unbalanced Loads After Only 5 Years
on October 19, 2025
Posted by: 1215
I purchased a Whirlpool washer at the end of 2020. After nearly five years of use, it has developed a persistent issue with unbalanced loads. Despite carefully following all usage guidelines — including proper loading, avoiding overloading, and ensuring the machine is level — the washer consistently goes off balance during the spin cycle.
This occurs with every load, regardless of size or content. It’s extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially from a brand with Whirlpool’s reputation for quality and reliability.

I have had this machine for 5 years and it just died. No power. It never really worked properly from The beginning. Always off balance, stopping the in the middle of the cycle, and clothes not cleaning that well. It was very expensive and I had expected it to last longer, but I’m happy to get rid of it and get something that actually works consistently.

Defective Design; won't wash fitted sheets
on December 13, 2025

We bought this washing machine in July 2020 because the brand came highly recommended. For most washing it does an acceptable job. However, as has been mentioned in several other posts on this string, it is completely unsatisfactory for washing fitted sheets. I have reviewed the instructions and video on the website on how to load fitted sheets. I had a Whirlpool service technician come out to check to see if the tub was unbalanced. No matter how carefully I load the sheets, it still becomes unbalanced in the spin cycle, bangs bad enough to literally walk across the laundry room floor, forcing me to shut it down, separate and rebalance the wadded up sheets, and restart with the hope that it will work the second time. Success rate for rebalancing runs about 33%. Frequently, after multiple attempts to rebalance the load and complete the wash cycle, I will give up, load the wet sheets into my car, and go do job at a local laundromat. For the extremely high price I paid for this Whirlpool top loader, I should not have to feed quarters into the old Speed Queen front loader to wash a fitted sheet. After 5 1/2 years of struggling with this piece of junk, I am venting so other potential buyers know to avoid it. The top load tub without a central post agitator to keep the load distributed is a defective design. Anyone that is going to wash fitted sheets should most emphatically NOT purchase this machine.

Hello, We value your time and would like to look into the concerns with your Washer. Excessive vibration or an "out-of-balance" load, common during high-speed spin cycles, causes noise, movement, and negatively impacts washer performance and longevity. The Primary Cause: Unbalanced Load The main source of vibration is uneven laundry distribution. When the load's weight is not centered, the resulting centrifugal force causes: Loud Vibration/Noise: Excessive shaking or thumping. Reduced Spin Speed: Control systems lower the speed to protect the machine, resulting in wetter clothes. Longer Cycles: Machine pauses/restarts to attempt load correction. Decreased Performance: Stress on internal components over time. Signs of Unbalance: Loud thumping/clanking, violent shaking or "walking," wet clothes after the cycle, or spin cycle interruption. Washer Self-Correction: Modern washers detect imbalance, add water, gently tumble the load for redistribution, and re-attempt the spin. If unsuccessful after attempts, the cycle terminates, requiring manual redistribution. Preventing Imbalance: Loading and Items Best Loading Practice: Place clothing in loose, evenly distributed heaps around the basket's perimeter. Avoid dumping items in one corner. Heavy/Bulky Items: Large, absorbent items (blankets, rugs) increase vibration risk. Check Labels: Ensure items are suitable for the washer type. "Doughnut" Method: Distribute single, heavy items in a ring shape around the impeller/agitator to center the load. Avoid Single Items: Wash two or three similar, heavy items together for better balancing. Never Overload: Load loosely; clothes should not exceed the top row of holes. Foundational Fix: Ensure Leveling The washer must be perfectly level with all four feet firmly on the floor. Check: Gently rock the washer diagonally; if it moves, it needs adjustment. Consequence: Uneven leveling amplifies minor load imbalances, leading to excessive noise and spin failure. Drain Pan: Ensure leveling legs are adjusted to sit securely and level within the pan. Do not wash a set of sheets alone. Add in a few extra garments to help distribute the load weight. Guaranteed to break
on December 20, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whirlpool doesn’t make appliances to last. I have had three of these machines. The bearing gasket fails in every single machine. Only reason I keep buying them is I can do the repairs myself, it’s a large capacity machine and it does a good job when it works. Long gone are the days when companies stand behind their brand. The new standard for quality assurance is “will it break outside of warranty” supplemented with “we make decent margin on extended warranty”.
