Not so smart

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] *note: I didn't buy this model for the smart capability (?), but the price was good, it was big enough and I needed a new washer.
Since it IS smart capable(?), I figured I would download the app to see if that feature could be useful. Well, the app notifies me whenever I've already started a load. But, I started the load, so I know that. The first time I ran a load after I set up the app, it told me that the load was done when I picked up my phone. Well, it was my roommate's load which was washed and in the dryer and a new load had been started, but was nowhere near done. I was only notified that the first load was done when I interacted with my phone, 20 minutes after the load finished. How is that useful?
I'm doing a load now -- I actually put the clothes in the washer and stepped away to start the load with the app, because I could, and I figured that would ensure the app and the washer were working together. It had been awhile, with no update on my phone, so I checked the app and it said PAUSED. Why? I didn't pause it and why didn't it NOTIFY ME? What good is a smart washer connected to an app on my phone, if I'm not told of a problem with the load?
As to the other features, I had a moment when I thought I'd forgotten to add detergent to the load -- the autodispense is a cool feature, but it was really hard to figure out how to use it correctly and will take some getting used to. The washer also makes lots of loud clunking sounds, which I hope are normal and not an indication that the washer is breaking down -- it's only been a few weeks. And it has trouble with balancing a load of sheets and sometimes towels.

First Brand New Washer Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use once you figure out each of the features. Lots of features to choose from. Wish it was a bit more quiet then it is. Had expected it would be over the 25 yr out appliance I just got rid of but I just close the door to the laundry room and sounds is reduced but not un-hearable. Need step stool to get items at the bottom.
