Dries clothes, mostly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dryer about 4 months ago. It is functioning mostly very well. One thing that I find annoying/disappointing is that the only way to auto-dry clothes on "low" heat is to use the "sensitive" setting. This setting doesn't dry clothes properly even on 'more dry' and when I've also adjusted the underlying settings to 'much drier clothes' (F3).I contacted the manufacturer who told me that of course they don't dry them thoroughly; that sensitive is only intended for blouses/underwear etc that need super sensitive drying and you hang them to finish the dry. Unfortunately a lot of normal (eg cotton t-shirt style) clothes shrink when on medium/normal heat, so I want to dry most of my clothes on low heat. I can make them dry when I use timed dry, but I do prefer to use auto when possible so it's just a bit annoying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We looked at Kenmore & Maytag. But the Whirlpool is made in USA.The performance of the new washer & dryer has been even better than I expected. Clothes come out clean, soft, & not overheated.So far, I have been extremely satisfied!!

I bought this to complement a Whirlpool Duet steam washer: it doesn't look the same (white trim instead of chrome), but was what we needed given the washer capacity. Works very well. I just hope the computer circuit control buttons don't wear out: I prefer the old fashioned dial controls above the machine, which little kids can't reach. My 3-yo likes to turn on this machine, so we have to constantly check on it to make sure it's not on. IOW, location of controls is not well designed for households with small inquisitive children.

Dries clothes quickly!

I bought this dryer a few weeks ago and am very pleased with it. It has several different drying options and they seem to dry a lot quicker than my old dryer. It's pretty quiet and being able to reverse the door opening was a necessity for us.
