[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are so many issues when buying computers, Size, power consumption, cooling, ease of maintenance, displays, updates and security. We have found that this computer with a i7, maxed out on ram is one of the best computers we have ever used. We are image intensive so speed and display is critical. 3 display ports is perfect!. Upgrading is a snap with NO Screws to open the case and two m.2 SSD hard drive ports this machine is the perfect device for maintaining. Wrapped in a cage and mounted to the monitor, it is save from users spills and never-ending dust and dirt. Enough outputs for anyone with USB and USB-C this little box packs a wallop. My software teams loves their compile speed and the production team loves the overall ability to run windows 10 with multiple desktops open with ease. If they make a better one, I am not aware of it as these have lasted me years already and I keep buying them because HP always seems to be jsut a little bit ahead of everyone else in building SOLID equipment they stand behind.
I purchased this HP Elitedesk 800 G5 Mini PC about two months ago. It was a replacement for a HP 34 Inch All-In One. I also purchased HP 34 inch E344c monitor with the HP B300 PC Mounting Bracket which allows you to attach the Mini PC to the back of the monitor. Since I was coming from a All-In-One I wanted to have the same effect and being able to attach the Mini Desktop to the back of the monitor provided that affect. I would also highly recommend the HP S101 Soundbar if you get the 34 Inch monitor.
The G5 Desktop Mini PC is the fastest PC I have ever had. When I turn it on the start up screen is there right after I turn the monitor on. This PC came with a Intel I7 processor and 500GB SSD with 16 GB of RAM. The previous all in one had similar specs except it had a SATA 1G hard drive.
The SSD makes this thing so quick especially for it's compact size. I will never go back to a SATA drive. The build quality is very good. It came with plenty of USB ports. I looked at the Dell and Lenovo mini desktop PC. However as I mentioned above I want to have the all in one effect and neither Dell or Lenovo allowed the PC to be attached to the back of a monitor. Dell had one monitor that would allow you to attach the mini pc to the back of the monitor but he monitor was only 27 inch and I wanted at minimum a 34 inch monitor.
Everything about this PC is so much better than any PC I've ever had. I would highly recommend this PC and it also comes standard with a 3 year warranty. HP has very good customer service and supports their warranties.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced an aging All-in-one computer with the HP-EliteDesk 800 G5 and an HP Monitor for less than a new All-in-one while still gaining the speed of 9thGen Core i7 and SSD performance. Super fast, so quiet and all the power I need for daily needs for years to come.
I purchased this computer to function as a midi interface / keyboard software training tool. I replaced a less capable mini pc with this one as I use a combination of several softwares, audio, video and photo . Carefully review what connections as I was prepared to use HDMI and the unit required a dual mode displayport cable or adapter to HDMI to connect to a monitor. Also this unit does not have a SDHC memory slot, but have several usb slots. I have not had any heat issues even running several applications.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An excellent monitor that truly makes images and work come alive on the screen. Another huge benefit is the that the monitor can show 2 full pages side by side, (which makes copy and pasting a breeze.) Only slight short fall is the Bang & Olufsen speaker system. The speaker system works fine, but playing music through the speakers leaves quite a bit to desire. (In fairness here, the speaker system was designed for video conferencing (ie Skype,) and using it for such it works fine.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received last week and married it up with a 32" monitor. Unpacked, plugged in and has been exceeding expectations since then. Did upgrade ram and processer as we use this for our embroidery programs as well as office programs.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased for personal use after purchasing several for work. They require a displayport to HD adapter. They do not have a DVD drive. Not a problem for me. Has a 512Gb NVMe drive. Boots fast and is ready to work. Happy with my purchase and the other 7 or 8 I have at work.
Purchased this PC for our HR/Payroll department, someone who needs a fast and reliable PC. We are very pleased - it is fast and easily supports having all the applications open at once that are needed for this position, as well as the multiple monitors that we use for the highest productivity. We would definitely buy this unit again.
