I use a T470s at work and wanted to get a Lenovo laptop for myself too. In comparison, the X1 Carbon is so much lighter and feels faster! So far it’s also proved to be just as hardy as the T470s. From pictures, I thought fingerprints would be an issue on the lid material, but it’s actually more matte than I expected and fingerprints haven’t been an issue at all. Subjectively, the travel on the keyboard feels a bit more shallow than the T470s but still feels very good.
Very easy to put into my bag and carry around. Around 8 hours of battery life if I just use it for writing and browsing. Still performs very well when I need to run drawing programs.
Liked the laptop but crashed in 2 weeks... completely disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Buggy. Has restart problems from hibernation and needs to be shut off then turned back on constantly.

Laptop arrived with smears on the screen. Didn't seem like it was new.

Overall I am extremely happy with this computer. I have a QHD monitor (3840x2160) and Intel 1TB SSD. The monitor is fantastic for Lightroom work, and the computer is sufficiently powerful to handle this program. Keyboard has a very nice feel and the trackpad is getting close to being as good as a Macbook (at least in my opinion). Lightweight and compact dimensions were very important to me, and this certainly fits the bill. Some things to consider - with this particular monitor, battery life is known not to be stellar. I think I could watch 4-5 hours of movies on a charge. Also, while watching movies it does get a touch warm on the top right most quarter of the keyboard. If battery life is important, you might consider a lower res monitor.
