I'm happy with the performance and battery life (almost all day, with the screen on full brightness), and especially the weight. It's phenomenally light. Keytravel and screen brightness are also pretty good. This laptop is a fingerprint MAGNET, even more so than previous ThinkPad generations.
In many ways an excellent laptop. The 4 K screen is stunning but one star off for the noticably low quality webcam, which in this age of vitual meetings is unfortunate. Whilst I believe the speakers have been improved for the 8th gen, the speakers and software are not optimized for virtual meetings. A tinny and booming-like sound makes virtual meetings less comfortable. The mic is not bad but there is room for optimization here too. Not really expected from a top of the line laptop.
Issue with the BIOS I am still trying to get support for

Very nice laptop! Very happy with it. Love the timeless design and best laptop to install linux in my opinion. Only thing that bothers me is the scratching sound that the speaker or vents make. I previously owned a macbook pro and I can confidently say that thinkpad x1 carbon is way better and has better battery life.
So far, I’ve had this computer for a month. It’s absolutely incredible for audio engineering, and high end plugin processing. It works great with my audio interface.
