After several weeks this machine has worked flawlessly. It operates smoothly and drives extra monitors well. It is light with reasonably robust construction.

Laptop is very light weight with good battery. Poor intel graphics definitely can't compete with nvidia grapics.

Very nice computer but the fact that the RAM is not upgradable is really a fault. At this price, there should be an expansion slot. I bought it so i deal with it but will never recommend it to anyone. 8G is ok for now but the timelife of this device is not very good,

I regret buying this laptop. It was sleek and light and I was so happy when I got it but it had so many hardware issues and I lost so much important data because it just stopped functioning all of the sudden and I had to wipe the hard drive completely many times. I had it for 6 weeks when I decided I was done with it but it was past the refundable period so I had to get it repaired. Never had so many issues with a laptop ever from the moment I received it. It overheats so much as well, I expected some overheating as it is thin but the fan doesn't even operate properly (don't know if they are all designed this way or it's another hardware failure in addition to the hard drive). Overall, such a shame as it's so visually pleasing and light yet the performance is beyond terrible. It is so overpriced for its hardware.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have purchased a number of Thankpad X1 Carbon for my group members in the past. It is a very elegant light weight laptop, for travel, and business meetings, yet some of my group members also use for machine learning tasks. The computing performance is very decent as well.
