Amazing detail, sound, easy setup and portable!

This project worked straight out of the box. I have reversed the image, set it back, used it for movies and gaming, and its so much more crisp than my 4K TV. Seriously I would mount this in my home but then I couldn't move it around and use it everywhere! And the sound is amazing for the size! Love this projector so much!

Awesome Image Quality with the Right Settings

My wife bought this for me as a surprise last year. The pre-set settings are actually good. But I tend to want to tweak things and refine them to my own preference; and discovered that when you use the User settings and individually put the colors at 75% to 90% along with the sharpness the image quality is excellent. I have 4K TV's in the house and the image quality is on par with these images depending on the input source that is feeding the Viewsonic X10-4KE. My observation is that if you play with the settings under the user profile the quality is exceptional. One of my passions is being an artist and photography as such I understand one thing. Color equates to more brilliance and in regards to a projector more brilliant light, which in turn translates to a more brilliant color conveyance and image quality. The icing on the cake for this machine is the Harmon Kardon speakers and the fact that the machine has its own wi-fi connection to a home's internet. Which means the system software stays up to date. Beyond that the machine operates with 3D enabled devices and has built in apps. Overall this is a very nice set-up, for the value to price particularly when you consider that this a short throw projector and from about 8 feet away it projects on an 120" screen. My hat's off to Viewsonic for this piece of equipment.

So much promise in small size but horrible image

This projector has so much promise in it's portable size, many connection ports and built in speakers. However, I cannot get it to focus at all. Tried auto and manual focus. Nothing changes. Image is blurry and words are impossible to read. I've opened a support ticket and if they can solve the problem, I'll update my review. Fingers crossed because I really want to keep this projector.

Set Up Not Intuitive, Noisy Fan -Will Not Replace A SMART TV

Unpacking appeared to be quite easy and the unit coming out fo the box looked great. Navigating the setup was very difficult and was more than an hour to do. Using the remote to attempt to add one's home wifi password was a pain, and took far longer than it should have. The unit asks to scan a QR code which only appeared after 45 or so minutes (this should be on a card inside the box or on the box itself). Only once you get to this stage and find the one app enabling us to download Netflix and Prime can you really get into proper usage, but be prepared to spend a lot of time providing your login details with the very rudimentary inputting via the remote. The app is only to control the unit in the event you don't have the remote handy. The Bluetooth function is not handy at all since apparently Viewsonic believes people only want the BT function for listening to music via smartphone. All of this was fairly oft-putting. Viewsonic includes a USB-C cable should you want to mirror your iPad for example. Going this route is probably what many will have to do because other apps such as HBO Max, Disney+, and Apple TV were not in the menu of apps to download (this should have been updated months ago). Audio appears to be clear with the Harmon Kardon speakers but the fan is quite noisy, and for us we wanted to use in a smaller room, which makes this a no go because the fan is simply too loud. This will not replace our 75" smart TV. Autofocus is an obvious feature. Projector has to be in a dark/controlled room. Any daylight will washout the image, so either have a blacked out room, or wait for darkness if you have windows letting in daylight.

Amazing portable 4K projector

Purchased this right before the Stay at Home order and it's been one of the wisest choices I have made so far. It's not cheap but it certainly worth it! Crispy 4K video with built-in Harman Kardon audio which is very clear and good enough for most of the Netflix shows and movies I normally watched. I use this in my basement which is now turned into my office in day and theater in night. As it is portable, I can use it in any room or even backyard. Just an Amazon FireTV stick + Disney+ streaming can keep kids QUIET and happy in their own room for hours!! That's amazing! They watched Frozen I and II for 20+ times and they are still blown away every single time I played it for them. I have to agree Let It Go sounds great with the Hardman Kardon speakers and it's just hard to not sing along! Love this product not only because of its 4K video, audio quality, portability, and design, what I really didn't expect is it brings peace to my house during this challenging adults and kids all stay/work at home time!!

Amazing 4k Projector!

I upgraded my old BenQ for the ViewSonic X10-4Ke, and what a difference! I have been wanting to go to 4k UHD for my living room, and since my projector mounts only 13' from the screen, I was looking for something with a short throw to get the biggest screen possible. My old screen was 156" (13') and only 1080p. This ViewSonic has a shorter .8 throw, so I was able to use the same ceiling mount and my screen is now 205" (17'), and it is amazing! There are so many perks with this projector. I love the auto focus. Never have to climb a ladder again to focus it! The sound from the Harman-Kardon speakers is great. Best audio I've ever heard from a projector. I'm also really impressed with the upconversion of non-4k sources. Watching DirecTV channels at 1080, standard blu-rays, and even old DVD's, they look great on this screen, much better than they did with the old projector. Where the X10-4Ke really shines though, is actual 4k Ultra HD HDR. I used Peter Jackson's King Kong Ultimate Edition 4k UHD HDR Bluray to test it out. This is a movie that utilizes millions of colors and was filmed to show off HDR, and the ViewSonic projector delivered like no other that I've seen! The amazing color reproduction and picture clarity is incredible. Not only regular colors and contrast, but the HDR brings out reds in the clouds, and different shades of gold in scenes that I didn't see in the theatre. WOW! I'm only sitting 12 feet from a 205" screen and it's as crystal clear as it gets. I love it! The contrast is great. The standard settings need to be tweaked a little. I found that changing the HDMI setting from Auto to Full makes a gigantic difference in image detail, and I usually bring the contrast up higher than the factory setting. I love that the projector remembers my settings on each input, and not just the two user banks, but it also stores your changes for the factory banks as well. The 3D feature, with Avatar is great! Pic's I took don't do it justice :)

Perfect for your home theater

Amazing picture and sound. The auto keystone and focus work great, you can adjust the focus to your personal comfort as well. I personally reset the focus with one button on the remote each time I change the content, this projector readjust to the new content perfectly. BluRay movies look great on this projector. I'm sure a 4K BluRay looks even better. Make sure you upgrade the firmware before using. There were some picture issues before I updated the firmware.

Elegant design with aggressive performance

It reminds me of my DB12 . The color screams luxury , the leather whispers elegance . The picture rivals any 4K projector worth $30k more and laughs all the way to bank . It can make 100 inch 4k without breaking a sweat . Do what ever you can do to get one ! You hate yourself passing this one up .
