nice refrigerator but very noisy motor sounds, also when ice machine fills with water it is really loud water sounds

cheap wiring cover

The frig is fine, BUT---why does G.E. use a plastic vent cover at the bottom rear of the unit? Mice easily chew through it and then chew and short out the electrical wires that run the whole frig. This happened to me after only two weeks of service. UNACCEPTABLE. I covered it over with window screening and steel wool. Service tech could only do what was in his manual. I did the rest.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Solid Essential Refrigerator

Just replaced a 30 year old Whirlpool 18 cubic feet refrigerator with this GE. It fit perfectly in our opening. I would have gone with another Whirlpool, but I read more than a few sources saying that they have issues with their control circuit boards. This GE is what I like: Basic and simple. Uses a tried and true mechanical defrost timer. It's also nice that is was manufactured in USA. Time will tell, but I'm happy with it right now.
