[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Kickstarter backpack and this bag has gone for four states and countless local trips. The waist straps have a little pocket and makes everything super convenient to hold your wallet, keys, etc. I don't have to take it off when I'm on the move anymore now that I have these little guys.

They seem sturdy and look

They seem sturdy and look great. But, they stick out strangely when the bag is lying down and they were pretty challenging to get on. But, I am satisfied with my purchase and only wish I had gotten these sooner!

There are pockets on these

There are pockets on these that I would love to be able to put a cellphone or wallet into. However, once they are wrapped around my generous anatomy, it is almost impossible to get anything but the smallest items in an out. Other than that, they connect and disconnect to all three of my packs quickly and easily.

The waist straps are great

The waist straps are great and work as well as I expected them to. The two gripes I have are:
1.) When wearing the straps, they tend to curve along the side of my body, which is what it's supposed to do. But when the strap is curved, it makes it frustratingly difficult to put my phone inside it because the phone is a flat object and the waist strap is curved when worn.

2.) The straps are splayed out when I'm not using the bag, making the bag look very messy and busy. With the chest straps doing the same, it looks like a very cluttered bag. I wish Nomatic had designed all straps to be hidden away or at least tied down when not in use.
But I want to end this review stating that the straps are of excellent quality and are definitely recommended. I would rate them as a 3.8 if I could for design and a definite 5.0 for build quality.

I think they will work perfectly with my backpack that came without waist straps. They hold my Samsung note 9 phone and are very padded.

They are pretty hard to put on and take off, and don't quite fit the loops of the bag. Also, when tightened, there isn't a place to attach the extra strap ends. However, I like the pockets and it's comfortable to wear

These waist straps are awesome! My wife made loops on my other backpacks so I can switch the straps back and forth when needed.
