I got the original messenger

I got the original messenger bag in a Kickstarter campaign a couple of years ago. It has been my most used and useful piece of luggage/working gear. I keep the front accessories compartment loaded with needed items. It's my go-to bag for travel, and is the perfect "personal item" for plane flights. The only difference I can see between my original bag and the one being sold now is the more subdued logo on the front panel. When Nomatic came out with their new 15L every day backpack, I saw no need to get it because my messenger bag is about the same size (2.5" shorter along the long axis), and serves the same purpose. Yes, it is a shoulder carry (or cross body) rather than a backpack carry. But I had been using other single strap bags for decades, so I saw no need to change now.

Fantastic bag and well thought

Fantastic bag and well thought out. Bag seems to get weird marks on it frequently but can be wiped off. My only complaint is that the strap gets tangled every time I use it. Quick fix would be a double joint on both ends so it can easily rotate without taking the strap off.

I really liked the bag

I really liked the bag but ended up sending it back. I have a Timbuk2 that I've used for years and I ended up liking it better. My main complaint is that the handle on the top is shallow and difficult to grasp. I use my handle constantly so that's an issue. Secondly, the bag isn't expandable except for side pockets that collapse/expand for a water bottle. Other than that, the bag is innovative and nice.

Pros: compact sleek outer design

Pros: compact sleek outer design yet holds what I need., the magnetic water bottle holders are da bomb!, a lot of organization pouches/compartments, I love that it stands upright on its own, the ability to use one of two panels for different types of storage. The lockable zippers are nice, even though I haven’t found an opportunity to need them.
Cons: Shoulder strap does not stay put on my shoulder, it would be a big improvement to add material that grips to the should strap pad. The shoulder strap also twists which is a nuisance. I like the laptop compartment on the rear part of the bag, but would also like storage in the same area for my charging cord so I don’t have to unzip multiple compartments when I use my laptop. The plastic eyeglass case is a nice idea but too much in the way. However the pouch that holds it works well for my eyeglass case which is much smaller. I never tether my keys to anything, so the key tether isn’t useful for me. The top handle is sleek, but it is not ver easy to find and get ahold of. I wish there was a little more space to easily get my fingers around it. This may happen over time as the bag breaks in? Would also like one or two more pen pockets, and another pocket for extra business cards.
Overall Impression: The test time will determine durability, so far it looks like it will fare well. Even though I have commented on several areas of improvement, I am happy with this bag and I think many other customers would like it as well.

Exactly what I was looking for! Low profile with a lot of organization. The external material is perfect for working in the hospital as I can easily disinfect and clean outer surface. I will be a customer for life!
