I just got this bag,

I just got this bag, so I’m still figuring out all the cool features and how to integrate it into what I need. But honestly, it’s so cleverly designed, it’s more fun than a challenge. Can’t wait to travel with it. For now I’m just enjoying all the discovery. It’s very well made, light, durable and a blast to figure out. Kudos to Nomatic!

I bought the pack back

I bought the pack back two months to the messenger bag coming out. I even said I wish they had a message get bag!!! I LOVE THIS bag. Now I’m stuck with a back back I’ve barley used.

First and foremost I love the organization of the bag, it fits everything I need it to fit and more. The ONLY reason for the 4 star review and not the 5 star is the shoulder strap. As comfortable as it is, the material used makes it extremely slick, so I find it sliding off my shoulder constantly unless I sling it around my neck. While I understand that many people where the messenger bag slung around their neck, I rarely do, I wear a suit almost every day and would rather have it just over my shoulder. I feel like if just a tiny bit of grip material or some rubber was added to the shoulder strap cushion this bag would be perfect. Great quality, great organization, comfortable strap, but slides down constantly.

I wanted to love this

I wanted to love this bag, and while some of the features are innovative, I did end up returning it because I found far too many irritating aspects to overcome. The pros are well documented, so I will mention the things that I found drawbacks. First, the weight. This bag adds significant heft at almost 4 pounds. By the time it is loaded out, it’s a brute to daily carry. Packing the same gear in a bag that weighs half as much makes a huge difference that you will notice each and every time you pick it up. Second, the strap. While it is an interesting design, is a nightmare for twisting. Every time you pick this bag up it will cost you time to navigate the strap. This could have been easily fixed with additional swivels. Next, the organization is awesome, but frustratingly laid out. I would have much preferred compartmentalization for smaller items in one section which does not “flop open”. One of the benefits of the bag is the stand on its own feature, which is totally lost opening the front compartment, unless you want to spend a frustrating amount of time focusing on where to stop your zipper so this does not happen. The next iteration of this bag could be great if given a diet and focus on daily usability of the numerous features.
