Classy and functional!

This is not my first review of a Nomatic product and I’m starting to feel like It’s Groundhog Day. Classy and well thought out functionality. Sure there are cheaper messenger bags out there, but I guarantee none of them look as good (subjective) nor are they as functional (objective). This bag does it all!

Great bag and company

This is my second Nomatic bag. I loved my first and got the larger one for my second. They are more expensive than other bags but totally worth it. I had great luck with their warranty as well. When my zipper gave out (after several years of daily use), they sent me a new one within days.

I’ve been using a Nomatic backpack for a while, but grabbed a messenger bag when I changed to an office job. My laptop and everything I need each day for work fits great and the bag looks very professional without being an old-school briefcase. Love it!

I use this mostly for work, and it fits my large Macbook Pro and all my other stuff, no problem. The magnets on the shoulder strap are super cool.

I had very high hopes

I had very high hopes for this bag and I was sold on the dedicated features and functionality (in concept) but I'm not sure the execution is perfect. More importantly, I mostly bought it to fit my brand-new 17" ultrabook. I knew the dimensions and made sure the Nomatic could fit it. It had room to spare (as described). However, when I received it I couldn't close the back section (one corner). It did eventually fit but I could not get one corner to close, but it's TIGHT (so maybe it will stretch?). To be fair, the dimensions weren't inaccurate per se, it will FIT, but they don't say anything about closing it.
Also from a form factor, I am accustomed to the longer/flatter messenger bags that stay close to the body. This one however, shorter width but a bit 'thicker', meaning it sticks out farther from your body, like a lunchbox shape (boxy). The proportions are hard to gauge from just the pictures.
I do like the shoulder strap, as most messenger bags tend to leave that as an afterthought. And the pockets and inserts are plentiful. But again, don't assume the internal space is accurate, since the hardshell eyeglass case is inside the main compartment and eats into that storage space (unless you don't wear glasses - I do).
I know I could've returned it, but I really did want to give this a try and since the ultrabook now barely fits, I'm going to take it on my first business trip in the coming months. I may be judging prematurely, but this email came asking for my thoughts.
