A good, solid refrigerator, but ...

It's well-built, but minor problems detract enough to prevent it from being better. First, the stainless steel clad on the doors is not smooth, especially on corners. I expected the steel bends to be square and precise for a refrigerator of that cost, but they are not.
Second, the refrigerator is larger than the dimensions given in the installation instructions. The overall dimensions do not account for sheet metal screw heads that protrude. Flat head screws would have solved that problem.
Third, the water dispenser is agonizingly slow when sourced from a reverse osmosis system. Larger water lines would help.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not so great :(

It feels like it is made from cheaper material. The ice/water dispenser shoots in all directions and sends crushed ice out on the floor!

Our last fridge lasted 12 years. Ge Profile 42 side by side. Two weeks ago we replace it with a newer model because the old one died.. I have to say that actually since installation it does not feel like it is cooling correctly. So today I wanted to see actual temperature to see. because ice cream is still soft....Not very happy right now after the $$$ spend...

I purchased this GE Profile refrigerator a few of months ago for a kitchen renovation we recently completed (and have been using about 2 months) and really like the size and especially the bottom vegetable drawer. Items like cucumbers and lettuce stay fresher longer than in drawer of previous GE Profile frig. The only thing I do NOT like is the outside control names ...ex: ice, water crushed etc. There is a bar above each description that lights up when it is selected, however, at night all you see is the light and not what is it for. All of the control words should light up as well when in use. They are written in black which doesn't show up well even when the lights are on. I wish I had looked at the GE Cafe -- I would bet that one does, however I did not check it out. It surprised me that GE didn't change this on an item as costly as this referigertor.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far so good with the Refrigerator

We purchased all of the Profile appliances for our new home - so far so good with the refrigerator. No issues or problems. We needed the Profile series instead of upgrading to the Cafe because we wanted a 42" built-in one. Couldn't get that in the Cafe series. Profile seems okay. DO NOT LIKE THE BOTTOM not having a grill or anything to hide the screws and the water line though
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ice make randomly freezes up and will not make ice. Water randomly leaks from THE ICE CHUTE and also drips all over the interior of freezer. Almost 1 year and still not fixed.

Hello there,

We are so sorry to hear that your brand new fridge is leaking all over your new floors. We definitely can understand why that would be frustrating. You'll want to determine the cause of the leaking.

Check the following:

Check the water valve to see if it is leaking or flooding. It may be stuck in the on position. If this appears to be the case, turn off water to the refrigerator and schedule a service appointment.
Some leaks could be plumbing issues. Check the copper water line to the water valve. It may be loose or split. Please contact your local plumber if your leak appears to be coming from the copper line itself.
Check the plastic fill-line from the water valve to the icemaker. It may be loose or split. If this appears to be the case, shut the water off and tighten the water valve.

To shut off water to your refrigerator:

Turn off the icemaker, if applicable.
Carefully pull the refrigerator out from the wall and locate where the water connection connects to your house water supply.
Turn the shut-off valve clockwise to shut water off.

If you need to schedule a service appointment you can call 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm. We hope this helps. Stay safe. Mike@GEA

Lemon of all lemons

Awful since day one. Purchased in beginning of 2020 to replace a GE Monogram fridge that stopped cooling. This was the only brand that would fit in the space so we purchased it having no other options. 6 months in and started having trouble. They ended up delivering a new fridge since they were not able to get parts. One month later the fans on the replacement fridge started acting up. We called for service, they came out did a few adjustments, same thing happened multiple times. The noise the fridge made at times was so bad no one could stay in the kitchen area. Its groaning, leaking and loud and on the 4th of July this year the whole thing stopped cooling all together. For the high price tag of this fridge the expectations is to last longer then 3 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear that this refrigerator has not lived up to your expectations. This is in no way the consumer experience that we strive for. We understand the importance of spending money on an appliance that will last.

It is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance. There are many variables involved such as, frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, maintenance, etc.

We recommend scheduling another service appointment to get this issue resolved by a certified technician. If the technician deems this appliance irreparable, they will provide you with the next steps. You can schedule an appointment with a GE Appliances technician by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

We appreciate you choosing GE Appliances for your home, and we are confident that our technicians will be able to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible! - Adrian@GEA
