Amazing

This dishwasher is everything you want it to be and more. Like everyone has already stated, it's quiet and holds a lot, which makes it great for holidays and entertaining. You don't have to wait until the overnight to run it too, but if you do, there is a delayed start timer.
We are not "rinsers" and put our dishes straight into the unit and they have come out clean and dry. Everything is dry. Coffee mugs, glasses, plasticware, utensil, everything. The ProDry feature really works well. The third rack is pretty awesome and gives you room to put your mugs or glassware at enough of an angle, the bottoms won't pool if you're not using the ProDry feature.
We have square bowls, and plates. The placement of square bowls can be challenging for dishwasher racks, but not this one. The fit nicely on the middle rack lined up in a row, just right (or left) of center, which leaves enough space for glasses down the side.
We opted for the model without bar and love the informational screen you get, which doesn't seem to get enough marketing. While we initially thought we wanted the handle model, we are glad we got this one.
Oh, the light. I initially was skeptical about the LED light inside the unit because, who doesn't have the kitchen light on when emptying the dishwasher? Well, it's far more useful than I expected.

YES! This is everything I could want in a dishwasher, and let me tell you why.
It has HUGE interior. Tall tub? Yes indeed! 3 separate pull out racks. Two of them can hold a full (and I mean Full) collection of dishes, and still have room for glasses,
A huge flatware area on the bottom that has large individual separators in it. (My previous one had small separators that I couldn’t use so I had to take the top off) This one they got the design right and my wide flanged utensils easily fit in. It even has a large adjustable knife holder on the left side.
And the top pull out tray (The third one) is enormous as well. I cannot believe how much stuff fits in here.

How does it clean? Honestly, my glasses and stemware have not looked this great since I originally purchased them. No streaks or water spots at all, and all of the dishes and utensils came out perfectly clean....and it is quiet....,we were joking around saying “How will we know it’s done if we can’t hear it“?
Luckily it has a light and status bar on the front that shows you how much of the cycle is remaining.
It was fairly typical to install. The only thing of note is the electrical box (where you make the connections) seemed a little smaller than other ones I have installed. Otherwise it was a breeze.
I highly recommend this unit. Trust me it will make holiday clean up much easier, and if you have a large family you will greatly appreciate the capacity. Oh, and the coolest part....it has LIGHTS INSIDE! Yes, when you open the door up, it turns the lights on......I swear I heard a chorus of angels when I opened the door the first time :-)

Terrible Quality- Leaves Soap on the Dishes

I bought this dishwasher a year and a half ago. It has broken down multiple times, with parts being replaced twice. After each repair it worked for awhile and then started leaving soap deposits on our dishes again. This third time around customer service is blaming the quality of our water. However we have a whole house water treatment system and do not experience water deposits anywhere else, including our glass shower walls which is crystal clear using the same water.
In addition the 15+ year opld dishwasher we replaced never ever experienced these issues!
The appliance we have is a total lemon, I bought their most expensive dishwasher with the hope of having something great, instead its the worst dishwasher I have even owned. I should have bought another brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Top of the Line

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the dishwasher except that the controls are easy to touch which activates the machine. You have to always ensure to hit cancel. Kind of a pain but this machine is quiet and cleans like an industrial machine.

The KDPM804KPS is worth every penny

I bought the KDPM804KPS a couple of weeks ago to replace another brand unit which came with the new house and required repairs 3 times in 3 years. Instead of making the 3rd repair - we bought the KitchenAid.
Wow!
I used to run the dw every night. Now it's every 2 or 3 days because the 3-rack system holds so much more.
Our dishes used to be "almost" dry. Now they're perfectly dry (extended pro dry is awesome).
I pre-rinse less.
It's nice and quiet.
I know, it's expensive. Yup. I held my breath a little when placing my order.
So worth it!

Game changer

I never knew how much of a difference a well configured 3rd rack would make in the capacity. We have a family of 5 and go through a lot of dishes throughout the day. This thing is a workhorse and handles large capacity with ease. I never get excited about home appliances, however with this thing it truly has been amazing how much of a difference it is compared to our old two rack dishwasher. If I could give it 6 stars on capacity I would! Unbelievable.
