Oster® 2-Slice Toaster, Metallic BLUE.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oster® 2-Slice Toaster, BLUE.
I think this Toaster is really pretty! Remodeling our kitchen, we chose to accent with blue... This Toaster is described as Turquoise/Blue, however I would classify it as TEAL (it is on the verge of being green, compared to my other blue appliances).
It toasts very well -- evenly, and on both sides.
I am including photos for color comparison; without using the camera's flash (in just normal kitchen overhead light) you see the Teal/almost greenish hue...
ONLY when using 'camera flash', does the Toaster appear a TRUER Blue.
On the #5 Setting, our toast came out perfectly for us.
Dropping from 5 to 4 stars, only because of the disappointment over (what I perceive to be) the Teal (not Turquoise) color.

Classy Toaster!

I was very pleased with this Oster 2-Slice Toaster! Not only is it very chic looking--I have the black/dark gray version--it's quality as far as toasting is superb. It toasted both slices of bread very evenly and, unlike some toasters I've had in the past, it didn't burn. I also liked the features on this product. You can set the 'darkness' of the toast as well as choose what type of bread you are toasting. This toaster also allows for a pretty thick slice of bread or a nice large bagel to be toasted. The only downside is it smells quite electrical with the first few uses. It eventually goes away but it can be a little bothersome at first. I received this product as a sample to review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The positive: The toaster is a very sleek and stylish model. Great on counter space. The slots are wide and accommodated even my largest bagels with ease. The negative: I toasted several different types of breads, pastries, and waffles. Frozen and unfrozen items as well. Many times one side was either cooked unevenly or burned even on the lowest setting. I found using the frozen setting was usually the cause for the item to become unevenly heated or burned.
Overall, It did a decent job of toasting and I would recommend it to others.

a simple, sturdy toaster

I don't have much complaints about this toaster; it's a nice toaster, and it does what a toaster does. I was a bit confused about the setting, however, and I still don't really know the difference between the "bagel" setting and "default." I'm assuming that the "frozen" setting begins at lower heat and increases. the toaster comes with an easily removable tray that can be pulled out for cleaning. It seems sturdy, and it's been serving the purpose of a toaster pretty well since I've had it. I had received the toaster for the purpose of writing this review, and in writing an honest one. I initially had no great expectations for it, but it has come in handier than expected.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pros: I love the color. Very appealing. This toaster browns toast evenly. The frozen and bagel functions work well.
Cons: The darkness selector is numbered from 1 to 7. Any setting above 1 1/2 blackens the toast.
I received this toaster as a sample for review.

Nice features without too much hoopla

I must say that I was very pleased with this toaster. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the price. Its been doing a great job with bread and bagels but have yet to try it with frozen items. I do like that it is available in several attractive colors and the retro-ish design. My favorite feature on it are the 3 buttons for bagel, frozen, and cancel. I think the cancel button is great because you don't have to "force" the lever to stop toasting which, in my opinion, in time of doing that makes it harder to keep the lever down to start toasting. I think its perfect does its function like a toaster should with a little extra that is nice. Plus looks attractive on the countertop. I would recommend this product. I did recieve this to try it out but my opinions are my own.

Poor components..

I expected more from the Oster brand, my first time at buying their toaster and it was not good. One slot would toast light brown on one side, leaving the other side burnt black. The setting was only on 2. Need better quality control...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best 2 slice toaster!

I was sent this toaster as an official test for Oster. I have Celiac Disease and its important that I have a separate toaster than my family's other toaster due to cross contamination issues. This toaster OUTPERFORMED out other toaster. It has a bagel and a frozen setting that is awesome, especially since my gluten free bread is kept in the freezer (due to spoilage reasons). The toaster worked fast! And it heats toast, bagels, English muffins and toaster pastries thoroughly. Our other toaster has a frozen setting, but takes 2 cycles to cook properly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OSTER TOASTER! The other reasons I love this toaster is simply because it does not take up a lot of counter space, which is valuable in my small kitchen.
