Great Value

I bought this as a replacement of an all-in-one stack unit. This dryer attaches to the top of the washer with no space in between. It is very quiet and has added no increase to our electric bill. I do wish as a stackable the dryer controls could be placed on the bottom or side of the dryer. I am a short person...but still love it!

Whirlpool Duet Front-load Washer
on January 8, 2015

I just got the set and I am very happy! The Front-load washer is very big. Because of its size, it is able to wash the equivalent of two to three loads of a top-load washer at once. Uses 64% less water and 61% less energy than the average top-load washer.

my clothes are softer!

I bought this along with the matching washer, and I'm super impressed with them. You can completely customize what you need, or, like I do most of the time, just let it do it's thing. And although I don't know why, it seems like my clothes are softer now that I have this set. Can't argue with that!

Washer, dryer and house went away in a flood.

Our house got 9 feet of water in the Memorial Day flood We have to replace everything. I had an LG set and had been wanting to replace them for awhile. LG is really hard to find a repair man. So I needed a new washer/dryer and I LOVE MY NEW DUETS. They are working great. And helping to get our lives back to normal.

I did a bit of comparison shopping and research before this purchase. I am more than pleased so far. This dryer makes the clothes virtually wrinkle free and it runs very quiet. I have the Duet washer also, so the 2 make a terrific pair.

Dries clothes, mostly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dryer about 4 months ago. It is functioning mostly very well. One thing that I find annoying/disappointing is that the only way to auto-dry clothes on "low" heat is to use the "sensitive" setting. This setting doesn't dry clothes properly even on 'more dry' and when I've also adjusted the underlying settings to 'much drier clothes' (F3).I contacted the manufacturer who told me that of course they don't dry them thoroughly; that sensitive is only intended for blouses/underwear etc that need super sensitive drying and you hang them to finish the dry. Unfortunately a lot of normal (eg cotton t-shirt style) clothes shrink when on medium/normal heat, so I want to dry most of my clothes on low heat. I can make them dry when I use timed dry, but I do prefer to use auto when possible so it's just a bit annoying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
