Why buy a dozen Nite-Ize gear ties? Duh! Because every time you turn around, ,you find a new use for them. I happen to use a lot of electronic equipment, which means I have cords and adapters everywhere. I had trouble controlling all these long cords, and they were always getting tangled. Enter Nite-Ize Gear Ties. The six-inch length is perfect for wrapping around the power cord portion of a computer power adapter, or looping around the folded cord on a mouse (no I don't like wireless mice). Headset cords, power cords, cords that are too long - there is no end to the need for these gear ties. They wrap quickly and easily. They are not fiddly - you can quickly wrap a cord with one hand holding the cord, the other putting the gear tie securely around the cord. They last a long time, and hold securely throughout their long life span. What more could you want?
If I wanted to make a single suggestion, it would be to have a twelve-pack box that had a variety of colors, but not black. So many cords are black - the bright orange or blue or yellow help you find your gear tie in that pile of black cords, I prefer to buy all different colors, but not black.

I have several different sizes of these but use this one the most. I use these for everything from dog equipment, hanging items to fastening items closed. I've also wrapped wires together with them to keep tangle-free.

Wire inside broke in 3 places

I bought 3 packs of 2x12" and 2 packs 2x6"from. Both the 12" and 6" worked great but it wasn't long before the wire broke about 1/2" from the end caps. This make these little less useful and they start becoming dangerous. The wire breaks and now it's just the rubber coating keeping it in place. The wire begins to breakthrough the rubber and it can be extremely sharp. That being said, don't use these for anything you need to have to secure tightly, anything that put much strain where you twisted. There is many uses for these but these will fail fast if they are used under much pressure. I used them to hang a roller up 25' a garden hoses and a couple drills. Which were only twisted when I tied them the first time. I made a loop that a hook could fit through. After that most of them broke at the loop a few broke st the twist and broke again after retwisting them. Just picking them up to use and putting them back on the hooks a few times a day for a week was enough for these to fail.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

These look like they’ll be perfect for what my son bought them for me for, but please define “rubber.” I have an allergy to latex, aka natural latex rubber. Too many companies, including yours, are just slapping a “Rubber” label with no clarification whether it’s natural latex rubber or silicone “rubber.” Please clarify so we know whether I can safely use them or if they’re for other family members to use.
