Newer refrigerators have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time. This makes them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is actually running. Looks great and working perfectly. We needed to find a smaller unit for our kitchen and this GE model was just right. Great features for the price and size. Very easy to keep things organized with the adjustable shelves and storage bins. Very happy with the purchase and highly recommend.

Perfect Fit with Inceased Capacity

The Pros:
This classy looking stainless steel 19.2 cu.ft refrigerator replaced a GE 17.9 cu.ft refrigerator in the same space. The welcomed extra space is split between the refrigerator compartment (extra .7 cu.ft) and the freezer (extra .6 cu.ft).
The sliding deli drawer is a nice feature.
The dairy compartment in the door is good to store butter and cheeses.

The Cons (mostly minor issues):
The 2 side to side glass shelves only have 4 adjustment positions. GE should have offered 5 or 6 positions for greater consumer flexibility. The old model had split shelves with many more height adjustments.

The refrigerator compartment has one light. The old model had two and was brighter.
The freezer has no light.
The refrigerator and freezer have one temperature control. The old model had separate controls for the refrigerator and freezer.
The two crisper drawers in refrigerator compartment are somewhat smaller than those on the old model and lack the humidity controls that the old one had.
The bottom shelf in the refrigerator door is difficult to access because the shelf above it is so much deeper.
