Hey there, and thanks for submitting your feedback on this model. We hate to hear you are disappointed in the noise level – we know any unexpected noises may be inconvenient.
While we strive to provide as quiet an experience for you as possible, we do expect sounds such as humming, clicking and whirring. Newer models can also sound a bit different than the older models you might be used to, because of added features and technology. If it might be helpful, we have a list of normal operating sounds on page 19 of the manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000478-2.pdf&_ga=2.230792539.537145943.1644244100-1532666414.1643037112 .
Notice of your concern over noise will be sent to our Refrigerator Design team for review and future improvement. If you have any other inquiries or concerns, we are happy to offer assistance any time. -Sarah@GEA

We recently purchased our new GE refrigerator after our old one quit working. We decided to stay with GE since we had the old refrigerator for 32 years. We love our new one and are very pleased with it. Plenty of space. We are hoping to get many years of use out of it. We love GE!!!!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this because old refrigerator making weird noises…..this refrigerator , while making normal operating sounds, runs at a much louder noise level and runs way more often then previous fridge. It’s like the technology went backwards over the years

Just okay

This fridge is just okay. To be fair I downsized from 22 to 17 cubic feet. That may not sound like a big difference but believe me the difference is huge. It's brand new but I already have to set it on its highest setting to keep things cold, and while it freezes the meat it takes almost a full day to do so and the popsicles don't even get hard in the freezer even after weeks. The LED light placement is poor and makes it difficult to see anything that's not in the top shelf. The crisper bins are a joke! I eat fruits and veggies on a regular basis and I can't for more than a few heads of broccoli and a few apples in them. Everything else has to be out in the main part of the fridge and it goes bad quickly so I'm forced to stop more frequently just to keep food items fresh. I really miss my 22 year old cooling vessel.

Good morning,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your new GE top-freezer refrigerator. Your feedback is valued and very important to us.
With that being said, we are so sorry to hear you are not completely satisfied with your new refrigerator, and that the temperature fluctuates and is not consistent. If the refrigerator is running but not cooling at all or is not cold enough, several factors may influence the temperature:
- Confirm surrounding air temperatures have been within 38-110°F. Extreme temperatures outside this temperature range will affect cooling, causing the unit to be less efficient. Below 32 °F, there is no cooling capability at all. At temperatures exceeding 110°F, there is a possibility of the oil overheating and breaking down, thus damaging the compressor or sealed system.
- Check current refrigerator and freezer internal temperatures by checking food temperatures.
If refrigerator control is set to a colder setting, i.e. 4 or 5, then we recommend you schedule service. You can schedule an appointment by calling the Service Department directly at 1-800-432-2737 Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET, or by scheduling online at the following link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
Thank you for your review! -Devin@GEA

I had the fridge set at 4, i put my thermometer in and the top shelf area is cold, the bottom shelf is in the spoilage zone. I just turned it up to 5, which is all the way. So far I'm not impressed.

Hello,
We’re sorry to hear that your new refrigerator has left you less than impressed. Cold food storage is incredibly important, and we know how worrying it can be when the temperatures aren’t cold enough to keep your food fresh. We recommend taking a look at the article linked below for some things you can check on your own to improve temperatures.
If none of that helps, and if you haven’t already, we recommend scheduling an appointment with our factory service team by calling 1-800-432-2737, or by visiting https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm. Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback and please know that we are here should you need further assistance. -MichaelB@GEA
