A-one features that fit my budget

I needed to replace the old unit that came with my condo but had a tight budget. This refrigerator has great features, a clean look, and--most importantly--works efficiently at keeping my food fresh. The larger freezer area and storage is appreciated, as I cook ahead and freeze lots of food. I was thankful to find a good fridge at a price I could afford, from a trusted manufacturer.

G.E. Energy Star refrigerator

My original G.E.refrigerator was 19 years old and still running!!! And it never needed repair.
So I ordered this one which is very similar to my old one. My old G.E. had a freezer light and a shelf within the freezer for ice cube trays. I wish my new one had these features which is why I only gave it 4 stars. I love the new Slate color, it looks clean all the time.

Gadget of freezer failed

The freezer gadget quit sealing after a few months. Without warning I will walk in and find the freezer open. i have thrown out a lot of food. This was the only refrigerator I could find last summer so I bought it. Wish I had waited.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there - Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We hate to hear that your freezer isn't sealing properly and that you've lost food. We can understand how frustrating this must be and we do apologize. It's not unusual for the freezer to open when the refrigerator door is being closed. The refrigerator and freezer sections are connected by air channels to allow air to pass between them. Slamming a door shut forces air from one cavity into the other, often pushing the second door open.

I appreciate the middle glass shelves and the door shelves were made with the customer in mind- they are deep, but don’t stick out too far into the fridge and things don’t slip through.
