OK, but is noisy and runs a lot

It’s an OK, no frills refrigerator, plenty of interior lighting, but freezer is not lite. The refrigerator runs a lot and is fairly loud. It is NOT compressor noise, more of a fan noise. My unit had a minor, but had to be fixed issue with the foot of the refrigerator that I noticed after delivery. I MUST STRESS, the GE Service was super, quickly scheduled, and the service man was GREAT. I highly recommend GE service based on my personal experience.
While at my home I asked the service man about the noise and how often it runs. He confirmed what I found on the internet (subsequent to my purchase) that the high efficiency units such as this one, run a lot and are on the louder side.
A thing about maintenance, unlike my old refrigerator where the coils are underneath and vacuumed out from the front, the coils on this unit are located on the back. So cleaning them requires pulling the unit out from the wall, removing the lower panel on the back (several screws), then using compressed air over the coils. Repair man suggested that a vacuum will only get the 1/3 of the coils that are immediately exposed. To get the deeper coils clean, compressed air is required, he also said Canned Compressed Air would be very useful getting the job done, if you don’t have another option. To get the job done, you need to pull the unit out from the wall far enough to get in behind it. So keep that in mind and leave enough extra water line if you should install the optional Ice Maker. When I asked the repair man how often does it need to be cleaned, he asked if I had any pets, I said no, he then said, “every two years.” We’ll see how the 2 year schedule works out. I will definitely be checking after one year to see. I don’t know what the WITH PETS answer is.
The power consumption is 73.4 Watts when running, about an incandescent light bulb. See attached picture.
Bottom line, I wish it was more quite. It’s almost a deal breaker, but I don’t live in my kitchen, I only have a kitchen because it came with the house. If it didn’t run so much, or was more quite when it does run, I would give it 5 stars, but 1 star off for the noise, and another star off for having to pulling it out to clean it. 3 stars it is.

It has the same dimensions as my Whirlpool one did, but is considerably smaller in space especially in the freezer. I'm adjusting to it, but I'm sure glad I don't still have family at home!

Cool looking Fridge

I really like my new refrigerator. It’s very sleek looking and is very spacious inside. The only thing that troubles me is that it’s very loud and I’m not use to the noise. My old fridge was super old but you never heard it. Although it’s energy efficient it turns on and off so often I’m worried about my electric bill. We shall see over time.

Great small fridge
