enough space for me

To clean the exterior of this model, we recommend using a mild detergent mixed with warm water, or approved stainless steel cleaners, such as Cerama Bryte.

As far as the sound level, it is normal for the unit to make sounds while operating. Because this is a high-efficiency refrigerator, the compressor may run longer and faster than older models. You might hear a high-pitched humming or pulsing sound during normal operation. Refrigerant flowing through the system can sound like gurgling water. Also, a water dripping noise may occur during the defrost cycle as ice melts from the evaporator and flows into the drain pan. For more information on sounds, see here:

Fridge stopped working after 18 months no warranty

I bought this refrigerator in August 2024 and the compressor stopped working in February 2026. The only way I see to start the warranty process is to have a GE service tech come out, but the first available appointment was two weeks away. We cannot be without a fridge for two weeks, so we had to purchase a new fridge. This time I am purchasing a Whirlpool which seems to have a better reputation for longevity and reliability based on what I read online, so we'll see how that works. I'm disappointed that an appliance that is supposed to last for 10-20 years, only lasted 10-20 months.
