Love This Fridge!

A month ago my refrigerator stopped working. At that point I went on line and started doing research to find a replacement. My search criteria included affordability, reliability, and size. My spend goal was under a thousand and I was looking for something reliable and not too big as I am a single person and don't need much storage space. After searching for a bit I settled on this model. Unfortunately all retailers had it back ordered for a month but I went ahead and ordered it and waited. I am very happy I did. I got the black unit. This is it a very good looking appliance and it works great. I love the finish of the doors. It cools very well and it's shelving design is very efficient. I love the LED lighting. Very bright. Another thing; I needed to switch the way the doors open. Using the provided instructions this was very easy to do.

Can't believe GE would let a product pass inspection and leave their plant with the badge being half off and numerous scratches inside the refrigerator and freezer unit. Terrible quality control.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice to be in the new century

Replacement for 1987 Hotpoint refrigerator. The old one was very good but much too heavy.
Wish the height of the new unit was not 1" taller. Had to modify the cabinet.
New unit is much easier to clean, better insulation, better lighting and Quiet.

A little small on the inside. The drawers are very small and shallow. It has been easy to keep clean. Overall a great refrigerator for the price but just a little small.

Compressor is not quiet

This unit replaced a 20 year old Whirlpool fridge of the same caliper of the same size, appearance and I believe quality. I had them running across the room from each other as I transferred food from one to the other. What I noticed is the GE’s compressor is noticeably louder. For this reason I took off a star. The LED light is bright and the plastic and paint are bright white. I have my fingers crossed it does not start to yellow.
