Too loud for the kitchen
on May 1, 2025

Had to replace an older fridge that was freezing everything. This one has good lighting, glass shelves, and decent storage capacity. The freezer is a little smaller than our last fridge. My biggest complaint is that it seems to run a lot and is really loud. It sounds like I left the stove hood vent fan running. I thought I would get used to it but it’s been a month and I still notice it. Had I known it would be so loud I would’ve picked a different brand or model. It would be fine for a garage but is too loud for the kitchen.

We'd like to assist you with your refrigerator. Refrigerators have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time. This makes them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is actually running. You can read more about this here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16932
As far as sounds the unit can make, please refer here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15901

They don't make them like they used to ! The removal of the film was a horror story. Where's the cooling coils in the back ? A gallon of milk slides off the second shelf, how can this be as the unit is level ? Not at ALL happy here, But I've heard All brands today are subpar. A life expectancy is 5-7 years ????!!!! General Electric !, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. UGH...............................................................................................................................!

We want to help out with removing the protective film and with items falling off the second shelf.
In regards to the condenser coils. The are actually located in the compressor housing instead of on the back or underneath, keeping them clean and functioning optimally. This design allows for more efficient airflow.
The most effective way to remove adhesive left from film, packing tape, stickers, tags or labels on a new appliance and ensure no damage is done to the finish of the product is to apply mineral oil, dishwashing detergent, cooking oil, or Goo Gone®.
As for items falling off the shelf, we recommend checking to make sure that the side connecting tabs are completely locked in and secure. If you are still experiencing issues, we recommend scheduling service with our Bodewell team. You can do so by calling 1-833-426-3393 or by visiting this link: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

Attractive unit. On the smaller side but I knew that when I Purchased. I am researching the best way to keep the stainless clean. I will say the refrigerator is the quietest I've owned. I have used the unit for 1 month. It appears to cool evenly and efficiently.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very loud!
on August 28, 2025

I originally gave it 5 stars. I will figure out how to delete or update that review. This refrigerator is extremely load at some points. Not sure if it’s the cooling process. But the fan is very very very loud. I have to almost every time adjust the volume on my television when the refrigerator fan comes on. I’ve only had it for a little over a month. I would not recommend this. Unless it’s going in the garage.
