Love Slate but loud
on March 29, 2021
Posted by: In WI

Purchased because I liked the look of slate. Had to have the fan in the freezer replaced in less than a month as it ran very loud. Even after the replacement I find that the unit runs louder than I would like. However, the look, interior and size of unit is what I wanted.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi - Thank you for having purchased a new GE refrigerator. We're thrilled to hear you do love the beauty of the slate color. We appreciate your feedback regarding the sound level of the refrigerator. The newer model refrigerators run approximately 80-90% of the time which can make them seem louder than your previous model refrigerator. Your opinion is important and we will gladly pass your concerns on to our refrigeration design team. We wish you all the best. Vikki@GEA

GE is a good brand

Well I came upon the product though a program. I had no say in what I received. As a refrigerated it does what it's for. There aren't any special features. For me, I prefer a bigger
size. For me as one person I need more space

Hi! Thanks for sharing your concern and giving us a chance to help. We're so glad to hear your refrigerator is doing a good job! Current refrigerator compressors are designed to run more than 80% to 90% of the time. Please take a look at page 19 in your manual for normal operating sounds:
