easy to clean, has icemaker

It's so nice to have a refrigerator that is not made out of aluminum and is therefore easy to clean (no streaks). It's also nice to have an icemaker.

Great fridge but a little noisy for an apartment

The refrigerator does what it's supposed to. The noise when it's on the cooling cycle can be bothersome but it's not overwhelming.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Refrigerator too loud
on December 28, 2021
Posted by: Seblack
Everything as is as expected with this product except for how loud it is when running, and the length of time that it runs. It fits my space well, has all of the storage I need and the ice maker works fine. However, the decibel level is loud enough that I would have ordered a replacement with the quiet feature if I could have found one that would fit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from geappliances.comBy Michael @ GE AppliancesGE AppliancesJanuary 3, 2022
Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Sorry to hear about the noisiness of your unit, we can understand how that would be frustrating. We did want to mention that we do not rate the sound level of our refrigerators or freezers, which means we are unable to provide a decibel level for while they are running. If you have questions or concerns about the noises you're hearing, take a look at this article: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15901

Also, for refrigerators and freezers to maintain the proper temperature, the compressor will run much of the time. Refrigerators and freezers have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time. This makes them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is actually running. If you'd like to learn more about this, you can click here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16932

We're happy to hear that it meets your installation and storage needs well! If you've got other questions or concerns in the future, know that you can reach out any time.

Best wishes,
Michael@GEA

Overall very happy

We’ve only owned this unit for 3 months, but so far there are no issues. We are using this as an extra unit in our newly remodeled basement and had space limitations. I had a few other choices but went with GE as it seemed the best choice for our needs. I wish it were a little less noisy but we aren’t in the room a lot so I don’t hear it often. I also wish the manufacturer would spend the money to include a light in the freezer. We are thrilled to finally have splurged on an ice maker. Ice tastes great as we also purchased a compatible GE filter. Now the unit needs to last a good long while and I’ll be thrilled. Time will tell.

New Fridge 2022
on January 12, 2022

Seeing I did not have a lot to choose from due to the size of the area I have for the appliance. Everything seems to work well, have not had any issues with its performance. So far, the only things that bother me are that ii is noisier than my previous one and it has metal feet in the front and has scratched up my wooden floor.

Response from geappliances.comBy Kelsey@GEAGE_AppliancesJanuary 13, 2022
Hi there - We're so happy to know that your new refrigerator is working properly and that it fits well in your space! Welcome to GE Appliances family. We are sorry, though, that it scratched your wooden floor during installation and that it's noisier than your previous refrigerator. This would be quite discouraging.

When positioning the refrigerator, it's important to note that moving the refrigerator in a side direction may result in damage to the floor covering or refrigerator. That's why we recommend turning the leveling legs at each front corner of the refrigerator counterclockwise until the rollers support the refrigerator, then pulling the refrigerator straight out and returning it to position by pushing it straight in.

As for the noise, newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators because modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology. There's a handy list and descriptions of normal operating sounds on page 19 of the owner's manual that you may want to review, to troubleshoot and rule out any potential problems: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000478-2.pdf.

We hope this information is insightful. Connect with us if you have any questions or concerns in the future - we're always glad to help out! All the best, Kelsey@GEA
