This refrigerator is roomier on the inside than expected it is laid out well. The shelving/compartments on the inside of door are wide enough and high enough to put large 2 liter drinks and large 64 oz water bottle. I like that I have the built in ice maker but would prefer more freezer. Of course that would necessitate a larger more expensive refrigerator. This 17.5 cubic ft size refrigerator is just right for me. It cools very well and is quiet on operation. Shelving is simple to remove so that they can be cleaned well.
Love the refrigerator. Was a mission to to find a refrigerator this style with an ice maker. I'm hoping that GE will continue making this style in the future!
This is without a doubt the noisiest refrigerator I’ve ever owned. It is also necessary to keep the refrigerator on maximum cold, setting just to keep things in a safe range. This means that it seems like the loud refrigerator is running constantly. So, I wouldn’t buy one if I had to do it over again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello. We appreciate you leaving a review, though we truly hate to hear you have concerns over the noise the model makes as well as how long the refrigerator runs. We know issues like these may be concerning, and regret any inconvenience caused. Our team will be notified of your feedback for review.
While we want to provide as peaceful an experience as possible, we do expect the refrigerator to make some sounds as it operates. If it might be useful for you, we have a description of what noises are normal for the model on page 19 of the manual, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000478-2.pdf&_ .
Regarding how long the refrigerator runs, we can advise most modern refrigerators save energy by running longer but at a slower speed; the refrigerator running longer than you might be used to may therefore be normal for the unit. If you do think it’s running too much, you may want to make sure the doors aren’t being left open too long, and the gasket is able to seal properly. Regarding the temperature, we would consider a normal range for the fresh food section to be between 34-42 degrees F. If you have any concerns that the refrigerator may not be cooling as much as it should, we do have tips in an article on our website that may help: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21185&_ .
We hope this information is helpful for you. If you think service may be necessary, that department is available at 1-800-432-2737 or online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm .
