I found these cameras quite easy to install. scanning the QR code on the camera enables the latest firmware to be installed on the camera and you can update the cameras for future updates. The cameras work fine on my phone. You can turn on or off notifications if you don't want your phone pinging. You still get the video clip just no notification if turned off. I have seen some reviewers state that the cameras keep dropping connection and they had to push the reset button. Maybe Swann addressed this problem because mine have not dropped out once yet, been up for a few weeks now. One thing I found is that it would be so much better if the cable length could be shortened with proper jack etc. My front camera only needed about 4 metres of cable and the cable length supplied is huge. That means I have to stow a large bundle of cable. I constructed a small box to accomodate the excess cable and plugs etc. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. These cameras are not too expensive and they offer a good level of protection.

audio problems and connection

Installed this yesterday Feb 5th. Lots of false alarms initially but think I have solved that, passing cars dont bother it anymore. However, some problems with audio. I can hear sounds from outside so thats ok. But how do I speak to someone at door. When I go out to door to test it, I can hear my own voice being repeated back to me. As for connecting it up. The cable supplied is miles too long so I have a big bundle of wire wrapped up in the original cling film behind my front door. Even if I ran it to my router for hard wiring, it would still be too long. But I suppose, better too long than too short
I would recommend this to a friend!

When speaking through the application, you will press on the microphone icon then turn on the speaker. Once turned on you can be heard through the camera. Delays may occur depending on your network speed on either device. Every security scenario is different, for this reason, we have made the wire quite long to ensure we are able to cater to most common scenarios. The camera it's self is not the problem, it is the app. I have had too many issues with not being able to see my camera views on the app. Very frustrating. Make me wonder if I should have gotten another brand.

Good quality camera but when using live view on the app doesn’t work most of the time

The Swann outdoor security camera/spotlight was easy to install and setup via wireless connectivity. The live view and play back feature from my android phone worked well (day and night) and the 7 days of cloud storage offers sufficient duration for recovery of motion triggered video. It would be good if an optional power only connector cable (5m) could be provided, for those only using wireless, instead of the 10m combination power/ethernet cable that has more bulky connectors. However, this is only a minor inconvenience.
Downloaded 2 different apps neither worked Wont connect to my network Cant reach anyone tech support This stuff sucks Buy a different brand any other is better than this
