I have been very impressed with the features and quality of the ROG Crosshair VIII Impact. Thermals have been great with the VRM and CPU. I wasn't sure about the SO.DIMM card being right next to the CPU and 1st PCIe slot, but it has worked out well for installing M.2 drives and hooking up radiator fans and LEDs in my Ncases M1 case. The USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection has worked out great for a fast USB-C port on the front of the case. Although the board was very expensive, I feel good about my purchase as this is really a quality board and it was worth it to me to just plug-n-play parts and not have to mess around a lot with things. Even updating the BIOS on first boot (which was required with 5950X) was easy and worked as advertised. Very pleased with this purchase and would recommend.

Best mini DTX x570 board you can get in my opinion. I used this in an Ncase M1 and this is a great board for that case. I really like the design of the board overall and the included sound card. Only thing I would change would be a minor redesign to the NVME ssd daughter board. The three screw design doesn’t apply pressure evenly to the ssd’s and if you aren’t careful you can easily flex your ssd’s in bad ways.

Good board, however the riser card can limits larger air coolers and the DTX form factor limits the ability to use true small form factor cases. So great for the Ncase m1. Anything smaller and a true itx board will be the better buy. Lastly, this board is expensive.

My Favorite board of all time, I wish I didn’t have to get rid of it but I decided to go to a ITX build and the cases I decided on wouldn’t fit the DTX size as it’s just a little to long. But if you need a itx board and have room to fit this in your itx case I would 100% buy this over a B550 or x570 itx board.
