Best of Both Worlds - Convection Oven and Microwave

The design is modern yet looks at home in our retro Mid Century house. Who needs a second oven when the microwave serves double duty. We use the microwave as a second oven to bake things like pies while simultaneously roasting a chicken in the large oven. Fantastic utility and the convection option is great. Love the way you can set the temperature for whatever the recipe calls for and then when you select one of the "Easy Convect" options, the oven automatically calculates a new cook time length. Works incredibly well. No more subtraction gymnastics for us when trying to figure out the cook time in a convection oven.
A bit of a Geek, I placed temp meters in different places in the oven while baking a sheet cake just to see how even the heat was. The temps never varied by more than a few degrees while on convection options. Very impressive. Love the rack options and of course the royal blue interior is great eye candy. We cook a lot in our house so buying a brand known for it performance and functionality was critical. We could have purchased any stove microwave, but we chose KitchenAid. Glad we did.

Great oven, but...

This oven was purchased to replace an existing wall oven and microwave. After doing much research we chose the Kitchenaid Architect Series II wall oven with microwave. It works very well and cooks evenly. The features are easy to use and are pleasantly intuitive. Nicely designed and looks beautiful. But, IT IS VERY NOISY. The microwave fan sounds like an airplane taking off and it does not turn off until you open the door or touch cancel. It should shut off when the cycle has finished. To compare, our new dishwasher is so quiet we cannot tell if it is running. The designers need to fix the noise issue and then I would give it 5 stars.
