It’s fast and definitely reliable, you can’t play games on it but great for Engineering software like Solidworks. There are some unexpected split second screen crashes (screen goes black) but it isn’t that big of a deal really. Some people say the design sucks but once you have it in person it’s not bad at all, I was honestly impressed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Thinkpad ever since college, and now I am using it for scientific use (microscopy and bioinformatic). The new P53s is perfect machine for me. The CPU is working efficiently for my tasks, with capable fan (still get a little warm though). The screen is very sharp, and the keyboard and "red dot" is always as good as the previous version. Also the portability is great.

Keyboard failed within a week of arrival. OS started crashing within a month. I've flashed with a Lenovo recover USB and it seems to be doing okay. Frustrating because I had to re-download and license quite a bit of software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
