Plunger FAIL
on May 5, 2022

I have been making sausage for 40 years and decided the heavy cast machinery were getting just to heavy to deal with so I purchased the kitchenaid sausage stuffer kit. The design of the plunger is sheer incompetence and would most certainly have failed any real sausage making testing! Who makes a plunger that is quartered and hollow, too small in diameter causing a large gap for the sausage to back up all the way to the handle. It's absolutely useless. Start by sending your customers a real plunger! Which by the way, a solid black plunger is used in your videos???

Does not work well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried to use the sausage stuffer on several occasions. The meat grinder works just fine, but when you try to stuff the sausages, the meat flows around the plunger and won't feed the stuffer. This results in a very time consuming and frustrating process to do even small batches of sausages.
Cons: Plunger won't push meat into stuffer.

Very Disappointing!

I purchased this specially for stuffing kielbasa but after last night I was very disappointed. It took such a long time to keep pushing the already butcher grinded meat that after 2 hrs, I had switched to a hand grinder which was so much easier. seems like pushing the meat down there is so much suction that the meat hardly comes out. Very poorly constructed and I hate to say I'll go back to the hand grinder that was my grandmothers.

The solution for the stuffer

I agree with most of the people that are positively reviewing the grinder and complaining about the stuffer.
If you follow the instructions you will not be happy.
BUT ... if you don't use the worm retainer that should stay between the worm and the horn, hell turns into heaven! Meet is pushed flawlessly and quickly. Try it and review your review of this product!
Actually if you think about it, this retainer is actually useless. It was meant to hold the worm back in place. But as the worm pushes the meat forward while stuffing, it tends to push itself back (action-reaction) so that the retainer is only giving you trouble.
I'm giving an average because I had to troubleshoot the product to find a solution for it, but I actually love it.

Awful!

I bought this to make hiking snack sticks. It is terrible. Takes forever to stuff sausage of any length and the stuffer does not fit the vertical column to feed the meat into the spiral. This means that the meat goes AROUND the stuffer and shoots back up, so you are literally accomplishing 15% of the sausage you should be. No way recommend, I'll be looking for a new sausage stuffer or will just have it done professionally.

Not worth getting

You, basically, have to stuff the sausage with the plunger. The grind worm didn't push the sausage into the casing well at all. Even with steady and gentle pressure the sausage meat mostly oozed back up the feeder tube. Very bad design,
