Great features versus other similar trikes

This is a great improvement upon other similar convertible trikes. We previously owned a SmarTrike and loved it, but this Little Tikes version makes great improvements . First is the recline feature. You will end up using this as a stroller because after your toddler sits in it they will only use this -- our son did. It just feels a lot "cooler" to toddlers than being stuck in a "baby" stroller. The recline feature enables them to relax. Second, is the foot rest - It is a nice big comfortable foot rest while SmarTrike only has pegs which mostly went unused. This is a great product for ages 9 months and up.

Everything You Would Want In A Trike/Stroller

I love this trike! We had a previous version of this trike with my son and I loved that one as well, but when he would fall asleep on our walks he would haunch over (he was fully strapped in as well). It was so uncomfortable looking that we would end up carrying him. This one changed that with the reclining option!! It makes me love this type of trike even more!! My 18 month old loves to ride on it and everytime we go outside she will go and sit on it and say "walk." If we go on a walk we use the foot pedal attachment as I tend to walk fast and don't want to get her feet caught. We remove them when we are playing outside at home and I walk her up and down the driveway and sidewalk in front of our house. I like how she gets to feel the movement of the pedals and hope that will help her when she can ride on her own. My 4 year old son will ride the trike on his own and loves it too. The removable canopy great! I like this one better than the previous trike I had as the canopy is curved and I feel provides better protection; plus, it stays in place when there is a breeze present. The older model had just a flat canopy that would flip up often, even with the slightest breeze. It is so easy to steer with one hand, which is so nice when you have to hold hands with your other child while crossing streets. It has a smooth ride is so easy to push! The cupholders and back bucket were a great addition from the previous model! Its so nice to be able to carry your necessities on your walks. My daughter likes to have her babies in the bucket when we are riding at home! The only downfall is the assembly. It took me a few days to assemble because I am by myself with my kids and it does have quite a few pieces to assemble *it probably could've taken less time if I had done it on my own time. Overall, It is a great trike and I am so thankful I had the chance to review this product for you (sorry for the delay).

TON OF ASSEMBLY REQUIRED ....INCLUDING THE INSTRUCTION BOOK

I recieved this 2 weeks ago and put it together yesterday. It took me 5-6 hours to assemble and it is not easy to do for this grandma. I thought it would be a nice thing to have for my grandson. Now that I have it together I am not so sure how sturdy it will be. I almost threw in the towel and packed it up and sent it back...but after having invested 4 hours of my time into it I stayed the course and finished it. One of the most frustrating things was the instruction book has mulitple pages and no staple in the middle to keep it in order. I kept having to put it back together just to know how to complete the assembly. I think the price is too high for all the plastic. I have not tried to take my grandson for a ride yet. I hope it does not fall apart. I would not recommend this product. Stick to a stroller or car that has a push handle on it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Toddler Loves This

Pros: The Little Tikes 5-in-1 Deluxe Ride & Relax Trike has replaced our other bike-like products, and frankly the stroller as well. Our 1.5 year old loves the feeling of control and ability to see in all directions. We love all of the places to put things. We use it daily.
Cons: It was a bit of a time-consuming event putting it together -- about an hour all together. But it's sturdy with a flexible design when all is said and done. (And one wheel sticks on occasion.)
I'd recommend it without question. And love the idea that it will grow with my little one.

Missing pieces

I was given two backs of screws/assembly parts but no handle. Super sad but I’ll contact the company and hope to get a replacement handle.

I was VERY excited when the box arrived with this toy, as I have had my eye on something similar for my 1 & 3 year old. My husband--who has built 5 cars himself--had a very difficult time with the first few steps on the directions (wheel and brake assembly). It took the both of us and numerous attempts to finally be able to move past those steps. As I went through the remainder of the steps I was often confused as to which screw/nut was to be used as the pictures do not clearly depict the correct piece. Perhaps if the part number was stamped on each piece it would make assembly faster and easier. My biggest concern is how the parent control bar is attached. I think there should be another point of attachment, as there is a lot of movement and the bar doesn't feel very secure or sturdy. Once it was together, my son and daughter were very excited to try out the 5-in-1 Trike and we will definitely get good use out of the product.
