Quality issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this bag about 10 months ago and have used it for roughly 8 months to carry my laptop to and from work, and I really like the overall design.
Unfortunately, the quality of the materials has been disappointing. The leather padding on the shoulder strap is already starting to fall apart, and the stitching is coming undone in several areas. For a bag that is less than a year old and has only been used for normal daily commuting, I don't think this level of deterioration should be considered acceptable.
I contacted Samsonite hoping they would stand behind their product, only to be told that the damage is considered normal wear and tear. I understand that a bag will show some wear with regular use, but having the strap material and stitching deteriorate this quickly is much more than I would expect from a Samsonite product.
It's frustrating to spend good money on a bag from a well-known brand and have these kinds of issues in less than a year. Unfortunately, based on my experience, the quality does not seem to match the price or the reputation of the brand.

The bag is very well made, of high quality leather and looks great. I preferred the fastenings on the older model to the magnetic fastenings on this bag, but that’s a minor point.
I use this bag daily and it is holding up well. I’m very happy with this purchase and highly recommend.

Ripped, tight off my shoulder, from the strap just after 1 year of use. Luckily I was able to catch the bag to save me laptop
