It opens rather wide and allows you to see everything inside. It is big enough to fit all my stuff, and is not to big to pass as a personal item on international flights.

Very poor workmanship

The bag was a Christmas gift and overall it's a very specious, classy, nice and comfortable to carry around leather briefcase, with a supreme and ergonomic loading-space design. Unfortunately, shortly after 1 year of a happy use, due to a subpar manufacturing quality, the arm strap attachment completely ripped-off the main bag (please see attached picture). The damage occurred suddenly, without any earlier symptoms, during normal use.
I had used my bag every day to carry my work computer, wallets, headphones, notebook, and pens, therefore I don't believe that it was too many too heavy items for such a spacious bag. Besides, I always carry my bag and look out for it with utmost care. I own other Samsonite products and never have problems with them, and I have always perceived and choosen Samsonite-branded products for their quality and longevity. If you also expect that from this model, better look for something else.

Immediately - check the zippers carefully.

I had worn out my first one after 5 years, so was hoping for a second one just like the first that would last another 5 years. In less than 6 months 2 zippers have failed. So disappointed. I should have returned it immediately when I noticed the fishing line threads and metal teeth mis-alignment. See pictures others have posted.
