I have been using food saver products for more than 20 years. I try to buy sale items which means, sometimes, it is in bulk. I use my sealing vacuum product all the time. It saves on freezer burn and food quality. The vegetable bags are good for saving the large portion food items. Since there is now just 2 of us. We don’t need “family” sized bags of vegetables. Once the bag is open, I simply put the balance in a freezer bag & seal it up for next time. Simple! The small handheld sealer is good for everyday reusable items such as cheese or cold cuts. I would recommend food saver products to anyone with a family or just 2 people. It has been worth it for me. JM.

I was a little skeptical about buying this, because prior to, I was using my full-size FoodSaver vacuum sealer with the extendable accessory attachment.
To my surprise, it works absolutely EXCELLENT!
Super powerful vacuum seals up those resealable FoodSaver bags in a matter of seconds!
In addition, it provides enough vacuum to seal a full size FoodSaver container with no problems at all!
Best of all, I can take some resealable FoodSaver containers and bags and bring this device with me to vacuum seal food ANYWHERE!
The internal battery lasts a VERY long time, and it is SUPER easy to use!
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this product!
To my surprise, it works absolutely EXCELLENT!
Super powerful vacuum seals up those resealable FoodSaver bags in a matter of seconds!
In addition, it provides enough vacuum to seal a full size FoodSaver container with no problems at all!

Terrible Workmanship

This is the worst item I have ever brought from FoodSaver and I have bought numerous items from them. I am on my 3rd handheld in this new series and it’s stopped working just like the other two. They just don’t work after a very short time like two-three weeks. Why?

This actually works with the jar sealer lids. I had trouble figuring it out ( it probably was me) at first I couldn’t figure out how to charge it DUH! I finally figured I had to put the whole gadget ( plastic and all) into the charger.
Then I found it hard to believe that the little black knob would work on the little hole in the top of the white jar sealer tops. Since there were no directions for use with the jar sealer lids I found a lady on you tube who demonstrated how to use it. That is what helped me
So don’t give up it works. I sealed my first jar of dehydrated onion. Im ecstatic. Alas I can die happy. ( when the Lord is ready)

Stopped Charging

I bought this unit in October 2022. I have it docked on my counter with the green light showing. I have un-docked the unit about a dozen times to use it. the past few times it was mostly uncharged and would only seal one bag with difficulty. VERY disappointed with this model. I have used the previous model (quite a bit larger) for a number of years and only replaced it because the charger connections were loose and I couldn't recharge the unit. The charging base may be faulty, but I actually believe the rechargeable battery unit was cheap and faulty. I need it replaced!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fantastic appliance to have around!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the FoodSaver Handheld Sealer as part of a product review focus group. This is my unbiased opinion of the same after using it for 2 weeks.
The FoodSaver Handheld Sealer is perfectly designed from a form factor perspective. It's nifty, handheld (obvious), but don't let it's small size fool you. It does every bit its advertised as and probably more.
I've tested and used it for 2 weeks around the home, and I find it becoming an indispensable appliance to have around the home. My fridge is pretty much stocked solid most of the time, and I've been able to optimize space and get more space to store due to the sealer. It vacuums the heck out of the storage bag! I tend to travel a lot for work, and one day a week I end up prepping food to just drop on the gas and cook to save time, the Food Saver comes very handy at this. Example - I made Ragu this week and my MO is to freeze in a Ziploc bag normally, takes up quite a bit of space. With the FoodSaver Handheld Sealer, I was chuckling away as the bag of Ragu went to HALF IT'S SIZE. I then went overboard and started vacuum sealing all other veggies and meats! LOL!

Though it's not actually designed for other uses, I've now carried the FoodSaver Handheld Sealer on my recent travel last week, and find it immensely useful when I have snacks/ cheeses/ any perishable food items I purchase at the local grocery stores to eat - I vacuumed the heck out of a packet of cheese and crackers, and they lasted about 4-5 times longer without turning soggy as is usually the case.
I'll post some photos later as I'm traveling again, but the FoodSaver Handheld Sealer appliance is an absolute must have! I'm personally very satisfied with it and would highly recommend it.
