I purchased the Pavillion over a month ago and very pleased with functionally and aesthetically. It is fast and has great memory and storage. It also very ports.
I just received my laptop a week ago and couldn’t be happier. It’s lightning fast, super easy to use, and does everything I need in real time. As a teacher, I need access to multiple tabs and programs at once and his computer handles beautifully. I highly recommend it!
Computer with Ryzen 7 and extra memory was a good call. The computer is fast. The optional video screen makes everything deep on colors, I watched a football game on the pc and really enjoyed it.
I haven't spent much time on the laptop yet. My initial impressions are that it's fast at websearching, clicking, changing programs, etc. But I haven't tried anything like video editing yet.
For some reason my mouse doesn't work well. I have a Logitech wireless and the pointer moves way too slowly. I've adjusted the settings to as fast as possible but as of now it's not working so I'm using the touchpad. I ordered a new mouse so will see if that's the issue or whether there's something wrong in the settings.
The keyboard is taking some getting used to. The keys are closer together than another Dell laptop I own and an Apple keyboard. They're shallow and soft (no click) so it doesn't take much effort to type. The delete key is tiny and hard to find on the top row. The num lock key seems to have a mind of its own - sometimes I have to press it to use the number keys while other times it seems to default. The L and R arrow keys are large but the up/down corresponding keys are tiny (about 1/3 the size). It's like HP only wants us to scroll left and right and doesn't care about up and down. Unfortunately up/down is much more frequently used when scrolling the web, Word docs, etc. There are two page up/down options - one on the keypad (9 and 3 if num lock not engaged) and two tiny keys on the top row at the right. Neither are in convenient locations.
The screen is bright and readable at the factory settings. I haven't done any adjustments. The webcam doesn't seem very good, at least initially. I've been on several Zoom calls where my image looks grainy even though there are bright lights in the room. I'll probably double-check that on a recording to see if it's just me or whether the image is grainy when viewed by others.
I may post an update later when I've used it more and tried different programs.
