Beware, battery issues and software problems

This product was purchased brand new and in less than 3 months the internal battery stopped working properly. The unit would not work without being plugged into the wall. I sent back for a replacement battery only to get the unit back with a functioning battery and faulty software. Now the unit doesn't allow me to move files from my usb onto the internal storage like it once did. ViewSonic tech support has asked me to chase my tail troubleshooting an issue that apparently can't be fixed. Good luck getting your money back or having them replace with a different item (even if you offer to pay extra for the difference).

Great portable projector, not so great battery

Purchase and received late September. Charged battery per instructions and the unit worked fine for the first week or so following those steps. However, on my third charge of the unit I could not get the battery to charge at all. Called support and no help. Still giving 4 stars for the unit itself.

Terrible picture

This is only the second time I e used this projector and it now only displays pictures with terrible black spots. I was using the HDMI input, thought that was the issue, but even the start up screen is bad. Was really hoping for more use from this projector, but we can't see the image! Can't figure out why!

I was pleasantly surprised when i discovered my M1+ was actually an Android 6.0 operating system, although out of date, it is still compatible with Kodi Matrix v19, just need to download the 32bit APK file directly from kodi to a microSD card, insert the card, go into file manager on the projector and run it - installed perfectly and is the best way to play library media content through the USB ports. Sound doesnt have any base, not as good as my UE Boom BT speaker but - its loud and doesnt distort at high volumes so is good enough for dialogue movies. Using my Samsung S10 via USB-C cable i was able to run Samsung DEX which I could leverage if i have more demanding video formats that the Projectors GPU can't process. The WIFI streaming worked well for me but only within Google apps like YouTube and Google Photos - to simply cast the screen via Samsung SmartView requires a proper wireless network with router (not adhoc to cell phone directly).

Not the quality of a high end 4K projector, but given the low price, this is exactly what I was looking for. I have a guest bedroom that I use this for when I want to watch my shows. I connect it to my phone and project on the wall.

I am seriously considering getting a few more and replacing my traditional flat screen TVs. Sound is incredible and the battery life is insane for the amount of HD res this thing puts out. The best thing about this is the ease of movability, and versatility. This this has been not only a great large 150+ inch tv but also a nice easy handheld tv for the kids in the back seat of the car on a road trip.
