It’s a great compact laptop and for its size is really powerful and the a very great laptop for university! I love it! The only problem is the battery life. It’s not terrible but it could definitely be better.

Decent value, but the keyboard is a dealbreaker

The laptop specs are fantastic for the cost, and it's light and holds a great charge. The keyboard layout is clunky and should be reviewed before you ever purchase this. Duplicate keys near the Enter and Left shift key are a firm departure from standard keyboards, and cause a fair bit of frustration. I wouldn't buy the laptop again given the choice, knowing the keyboard layout is the way it is.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Solid and well designed

This is a great computer. The screen is small, but I plug into my 4K monitor for everyday use. It's smallness and light weight makes very easy to travel with. With 12GB of Ram and the 500 GB SSD drive I7 processors, this box is lightening fast. I'm not a gamer, but I'm sure it would work well in that environment. I develop apps, and have lots going on at anyone time, and I am very pleased with it's performance.

Great laptop!

I bought this laptop as a replacement for my previous laptop. As a student, this laptop meets all of my needs:
1) Great storage and the laptop is fast and boots up quickly.
2) Nice keyboard. The keys are nicely spaced out and firm, yet easy to type on. I didn't realize the keyboard came with French annotations on keys in addition to English (eg. 'Verr. maj' is also written along with 'Caps Lock' on the key) but it doesn't bother me. The backlit keyboard is also a plus.
3) Size. The 14' size is perfect. It's not too large and the laptop is fairly light and easy to carry around all day.
4) Battery life. I don't use this laptop as much as I used my old one, but the battery life on the IdeaPad is impressive. I usually only charge it once per day, or sometimes once every other day, and it only takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to fully charge.
Overall, it's a great laptop and I haven't experienced any problems with it thus far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Incredible Power for a Reasonable Price

Excellent Computer. If I could give it 4.9 stars I would. The only problem with it is the keyboard. Depending on where I press down on the shift keys, sometimes it doesn't register as a key press. I have to press either harder or more directly in the center of the key for it to work. It would be nice if the keys had a more reliable mechanical keyboard type of system going on under the button. Fixing that problem would earn you guys that last 0.1 star.

Track pad stopped working after one month.

It's great, though the trackpad stopped working one month after purchase!!! I have tried finding a driver update for the trackpad. I have looked into other trouble shooting options. At this point nothing has worked at all. In my mouse section there in system settings there is no trackpad recognized, only my bluetooth mouse.
I am extremely upset and disappointed as I just dropped a grand on this laptop.
Please do what you guys can do and send some troubleshooting info.
