Great laptop! Love it barley feel it in my bag cause its so light and build quality is great only complaint is that cause its a mate computer there is fingerprints everywhere but still this is just nit picking.

Minimal packaging and early arrival. Great sales rep. Suprised everytime i check the battery status, anti fingerprint is legit. Smudges do get on the trackpad and palmrest. Lightweight and fans arent loud. And my Performance needs are met. Although no room for expansion.

I needed a 2nd laptop to backup my old 3rd gen X1 carbon on a trip. The 3rd gen X1 beats the 7th gen in just about every way. Higher resolution screen, better keyboard, better build quality. After less than a week the trackpad on the Gen 7 started to flake out. Works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. With the 8 GB of memory soldered, I suspect I will re-purpose the Gen 7 to run Fedeora as soon as my trip is over. The slightly smaller and lighter Gen 7 isn't worth the effort. Tried to get a T490S but they were out of stock.
