We want our money back!

We are so disappointed with the performance of this machine. Washer barely fills with water. I realize this is a high-efficiency washer and per the manual, water is not supposed to cover the top level of clothes. However, there is so little water that the clothes on top are barely wet! (see first picture) The machine struggles and makes grinding noises while trying to agitate the clothes because there is very little water in the tub. It's as though there is only enough water to wet the clothes but not where there is standing water in the tub. The clothes barely circulate within tub. Clothes on the top layer do not get cleaned. The only way we can get our clothes near "clean" is to use Deep Fill or Comforter so there is enough water for the clothes to get agitated and circulate, which defeats the purpose of a high-efficiency washer. Moreover, even when Deep Fill is used, clothes on top stay on top; there's no movement of the clothes. How does clothes sticking out of the water line become clean if they never submerge during part of the cycle? There is lint residue on our clothes even with Deep Fill. Also, if Deep Fill is not used and because there is so little water, only those clothes that get detergent/water mix, while the machine is filling, come out smelling clean. The rest just smell like they've been rinsed rather than washed. We have been careful not to overfill the tub with every wash. I wish we could return this washer.

Pressing Deep Fill once adds 3 gallons. Pressing and holding Deep Fill Clean for 3-5 seconds maxes out the water level. Another way to max out the water level is with Bulky Items cycle. Keep in mind, even if you max out the water, your washer is still saving water and energy.
Power Prewash option simply adds another wash fill, dose of detergent, and washing step in front of the wash cycle chosen (quick wash). It will use the same amount of water as it would otherwise use during the wash portion of the cycle has the Power Prewash option not been added. The bulky items or Heavy are the best cycles to get the most water, we always recommend using Deep Rinse and also adding the 2nd Rinse to see if that helps. If you are concerned and feel there is an issue, please take advantage of your warranty and reach out to GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737.

Not worth the price

This quit the first day. Washer 2 months old Quit. The gear came lose from motor. Both has to be replaced

All my appliances are GE The washer is nice and deep and washes very well has a lot of settings that I haven’t used yet but well overall I recommended 100%

Sensing the amount of clothes in the tub

Does an awesome job. Still learning how to use all fancy features, but wife is thrilled. Only downside for her is, she can’t reach the bottom of the tub without her stool. Lol.
